Mission Jingle Belles

Good morning from a very sunny Liverpool
I hope you are well ...

I have some Christmas cards done for this weeks challenge at Jingle Belles Rock who have teamed up with EAD Designs this week ...
As you know ... Jingle Belles is on a mission ... to help us complete the bulk of our Christmas cards before the end of December ... Me ... I'm on a mission to use up all the Christmas bits and bobs, papers stickers etc., whilst trying to keep my cards pretty simple .. I thought I would out fox the Royal Mail who charge extortionate postage for cards ... seems they got wind of this and just increased the postage charges further ......
Anyway, I did get 4 cards done for this weeks challenge ... which is to use stickers ... all the details can be found on the blog if you are going to join us ... These are just pretty simple cards using various stickers

This one is a Melissa Frances sticker stuck and stitched onto the card and the sentiment is from my sticker box too

The "JOY" is a 3D sticker from my friend Stella

Not sure where this 3D star sticker is from ...

... and this has a MF sticker again stitched around and another little tree sticker from my supplies
So I am getting my collection together ... even though I am definitely not in the Christmas mood ...

On a different note ... I read today that Davy Jones from the Monkees has died suddenly ... Wow! that's a bit of my youth gone ... I was a big fan ... especially of Davy ... it seems another lifetime ago and I still hold the picture of the young Davy in my mind ... quite a sad day ... my thoughts are with his family.

Have yourselves a wonderful day whatever you are doing ... I've just been asked by Thursday club to put some paint a sign for them ... I hope to be able to get around to visiting you all soon

Keep safe

City Crafter ... Extra Extra!!!

Hello there ...

Our lovely hostess Cheryl has chosen the new challenge at City Crafter this morning ... Extra Extra ... given that this is a leap year and February has one extra day ... a day for proposing to your loved one by tradition ...

The challenge is to use 2 or more ribbons on your project and 9 or more words ...
Our lovely Guest Designer this week is Ashley  and if you would like the chance of being our Guest Designer ... well that's the prize up for grabs this week! So why not come and join in the challenge

I am using pretty Eline's Huis papers again ... still looking for Spring in the colour palette

Got more than 9 words in there with this sweet quote

... and my 2 ribbons ...
Not as difficult as you first thought huh?

I'm feeling a bit rough today ... well these past few days actually, so I'm keeping this post short ...
Please take a moment to check out the creations on the CCCB blog and don't forget there is still time to enter the challenge over at Pixie Dust Paperie too ...

Wedding set

Hello ...
I hope you enjoyed your weekend ... Doesn't the time fly?

One of the lovely girls at the hairdressers I go to is getting married in March ... the girls are all flying off to Las Vegas for the wedding and the bride to be ... Tanya ... is beyond excited ... It's so lovely to hear them all chatting about it ... one can't help being caught up in the fun of it all ...
Everything is so different from when I was that age ... I am fascinated by the hair pieces and fashions they wear which look so very stunning.. and I can't help but wish they would have had these things in my day ... Oh the possibilities! I can guarantee that a visit to this shop brightens your day ... well it does mine

So I've made a card and another little heart for Tanya ... I'm not sure that she even knows what vintage is ... but she will just be thrilled at the thought of it, bless her

I used my Silhouette to cut the frames and the papers are Eline's Huis again

The lovely heart peg is from Stella and I added some liquid pearls as well as ordinary pearls too
The sentiment tag is made using my Sizzix ... I still love my Sizzix

I love how I can use up little trinkets, scraps of tulle, ribbon, lace and organza when making these

I don't have a plan ... I just go where it takes me

I made a tag by printing onto the fabric and then sewing the fabric to a piece of card stock
A closer look ...

You can just see the little pin there too with a heart that reads "Handmade with love"

So that's it for today ... I will be back tomorrow with the new challenge at CCCB which is being hosted by Cheryl ... see you then

Have a lovely day

Anniversary Card

I'm loving the pretty Eline's Huis Winter pastels collection at the moment ... the pretty colours remind me more of spring than winter ... I've done a few cards with this pack which I can share in the next few weeks ... mostly DT projects ... but today I have a card for a friend who is celebrating her wedding anniversary

See how pretty these papers are ... I'm particularly loving the blue
With all the new releases following CHA ... I can't wait until the UK suppliers get their stock ... I'm loving the Prima ranges and of course Melissa Frances ranges ...

I guess I really should use up all the papers I have first ...

On a different note ... do you ever watch a film and it stays with you ... I'm like that with books too ... I plucked up the courage to watch a film the other night called The Last Lions ... you all know I'm a big animal lover ... what I didn't know is that the Lion population has decreased from 450,000  to just 20,000 in the last 50 years ... due to our ever increasing population we are robbing them of their lives and their land ...

This film sees the perilous journey of a lioness ... a mother of 3 cubs and devoted to her mate ... as she fights for survival and to protect her young following an attack of a huge pack of rival lions that saw her mate fatally injured.  It was gut wrenching, brutal, and at times hard to watch ...
Not for the first time I thought just how much we can learn from these beautiful creatures ... their parenting skills ... their love and devotion ... their courage and strength in the face of adversity ... and even the forgiveness she showed to her enemies ... It is a film that will stay with me for a long time to come ....

Thank you for stopping by and for all your sweet comments
Have a lovely weekend

City Crafter "It's All Natural..."

Good Morning!

It's another new challenge at City Crafter today and this week our hostess is sweet Linda Robinson who is asking that we create a project in neutral colours ...

This is the inspirations photo for you

We welcome our Guest Designer this week ... Svetlana from the Ukraine and our generous sponsor Pixie Dust Paperie ...

I love to work in neutrals and I made a card and gift for a sweet friend of mine who really is an Earth Angel ...

... and has a heart of gold ...

A card of neutrals together with a handmade heart ...

Can you see the little wings? I had some chipboard wings from Pixie Dust Paperie which I covered in felt, trimmed around the shape and then glittered

... I stamped a little tag using PTI stamps

... and added a few trinkets

My papers are Prima (Printery range) ... butterfly from Ira ... Pin from Stella... the heart is cut free hand from calico ... lace buttons and ribbons from my supplies ...

I hope you can join us at City Crafter this week ... love to see you there

Till soon keep safe

French inspired Cushion

I'm still playing around with fabric ... cutting out hearts and pillows and discovering the fun of printing on fabric ...
I have a few things to share in the next few days ... today is a little French inspired cushion ... using mostly graphics from the Graphics Fairy and some cotton sheeting that I had in my box of materials

I thought I'd practice on this cotton ... but it worked so well I used it ...
My printer as most printers do ... only takes up to A4 size so I printed four sheets of fabric ... lightly attaching it with spray first to card stock ... then sewing it was easy...
A band of lace hides the join

I've just bought some expensive pre printed fabric ... and could have saved myself some money had I realised that this was going to work so well ...
I've also been reading my new book by Julie Nutting as recommended by Sweet Mona Pendleton ... so I hope to be able to try these techniques soon ... How I love learning new things ...
Right now some DT projects are calling so I have to get on ... I hope you'll stop by for the new CCCB challenge tomorrow and don't forget that you still have time to enter the challenge over at Pixie Dust Paperie

Have a beautiful Day
