Cloud Tree

Good morning to you ...
And Happy Birthday to my brother Rick!

Today is City Crafter Challenge day ... and this week we have Charlene hosting for us with a super challenge ...

Char is asking that we Use the colours from the inspirations photo

... And ... Include a Tree

I actually didn't have any stamps or dies for a tree ... well, I did have a teeny tiny stamp ... but my brain would not come up with an idea to accommodate the stamp ... Then I started to play about with bits on my desk and an idea formed ...

A cloud tree!
I had a few sheets of paper that reflected those lovely autumnal colours so I just cut some cloud shapes with a PTI die and some leaves with a punch

The cloud shapes are layered up with little foam squares for dimension ... I cut
a trunk cut from a scrap of brown CS and the leaves are randomly stuck down ... You can see a paper border there too and a computer generated sentiment

I gotta say this was probably the quickest card I ever made!

Please take a moment to visit the Blog to see the rest of the projects ... We really hope you will join us this week too ...

Have a beautiful day

Ribbon Wreath

Hello ...

My lovely friend Jan is Guest Designing this month for one of my favourite challenge blogs
And the technique this week is Ribbon Weaving to make a Ribbon Wreath ... (very addictive)

It is best to use thin ribbon and where possible ribbon with a pattern or another colour as it gives such a pretty effect ... I don't usually use thin ribbon so I raided my cupboard and eventually found some which had stitching on the sides ... perfect with some lovely digital paper from Astrid ...

... and a sparkly Christmas tree in the centre ...

I wanted my wreath to be the focal point and added a white bow, beads and stems to the wreath

... and some lace and a piece of the same ribbon used for the wreath below.

I did have some patterned ribbon but only a short piece ... But I still got to use that too as a sort of decoration on some fun paper

It looks a little like a pine cone to me ... but you can see how effective it is when you use patterned ribbon ...

On another note ... there is still no sign of sweet little Gipsy ... The little ginger stray has for the past few days decided to come into the house and goes straight to her bed upstairs ... It is quite strange as he is very timid ...  But he gets onto her bed and purrs ... Maybe he knows something we don't ... Or perhaps he's trying to tell us something ... Time will tell ...

Have a lovely Day / Evening and I will be back tomorrow ...

Thanks for stopping by

Remembering ...

Hello there ...

It's Remembrance Sunday here in the UK ... at 11am we have 2 minutes silence to remember the fallen from the past and present wars ... If only there could be peace ...

I have my card for Jingle Belles to share ... This prompt is a sketch ... by Allison Fillo  who by the way posts lots of sketch challenges on her Blog ... so if you are looking for one ... that's the place to be!

Here is the sketch

So, ok ... I kinda went a little of kilter with this one ... there was an idea floating around in my head ... so my image is not so much an image ... but a folded tree ... from a little piece of a book ... 12 tiny pages to be exact

Covered in a shower of mica flakes and glitter and decorated with little glittery stars

... But I did stick to the sketch ... even though my papers are not Christmas papers ... but I think the Melissa Frances range are so versatile ... and that little girl looked so 'Chrismassy' ...

I don't think this is going to go in an envelope though! Still it's something different

I will leave you with a beautiful song from the late Dusty Springfield  ... For Remembrance Sunday

Till soon

Sweet Blog Friends ...

... You REALLY are Special...
I am so overwhelmed by your kind wishes ... I know not everyone is an animal person ... and not everyone likes cats ... But I so appreciate your words
Gispy has still not returned and last night was a very cold night which makes it all the more upsetting.
I rang the vet yesterday ... just in case someone found her injured ... and I guess it's a good thing that they said she hadn't been brought in ... I rang the RSPCA ... they gave a number of someone just a few roads away who had reported a black cat hanging around for a couple of days ... of course we went straight there ... but it wasn't my Gipsy

Every evening when the garden light is activated ... we run to the door ... It's just the hedgehogs coming for food ... Every morning Macy is waiting, followed by Teddy and then Ginger ... But no Gispy
I'm keeping my hopes high that she is lolling in front of someone else's roaring fire and your kindness help a lot ... Thank you!

I showed you a card and necklace I made for my friend yesterday and thought you may like to see the little package for the necklace ...

This is cut on my Cameo and is really a card and pocket ... but it works well to hold the necklace

I embossed the insert and cut little slits to hold the chain

I printed the digital paper straight onto the card before cutting ... then printed a HA digital Birthday stamp to stitch on top

Just goes to show that you can use pockets for jewellery too

While my hubby goes to the match today I'll be catching up with my friend and delivering her card and gifts ...

I hope you have a lovely weekend ... Thanks again for your lovely comments and kind wishes ... maybe I'll have something good to report next time

Till soon

Where's My Cat ...

Hi there
Our sweet little Gipsy has gone missing .... been a few days now and it's a sombre mood here ...

Whilst in the past she has disappeared and thankfully returned ... her close relationship with my son seemed to have changed her so that she always came home after a day of adventure. No matter how hungry she is ... as soon as she comes through the door she would run straight to find Mike first ...
We have searched around and got up in the middle of the night even to call for her ...
I am hopeful she will come home but Mike is devastated and though he is a grown man of 29 ... my heart aches for him ... he adores her ...
The last time I reported on my blog that she was missing ... she turned up ... so I am keeping my fingers crossed...

I have a card to share and another little necklace which are for a friend who celebrates her birthday this weekend

Another felt flower ... but this time I rolled some tulle in between ...

That lovely crown and the beautiful seam binding come from The Ribbon Girl

The aqua coloured papers are by Melissa Francis and the other papers are digital ... both the same but one I overlaid with a digital HA stamp ... using up my scraps again

This is the necklace I did too ...

The background (Paris) is a freebie you can find at A Very Merry Vintage Style blog
and the little birds are from The Graphics Fairy

I am entering this French inspired necklace into the Simon Says Stamp and Show  ... Inspiration Francaise Challenge not sure if digitals count though ...

So that's it for today ... I'm off to check out the RSPCA and some local vets just in case Gispy somehow got hurt and was maybe taken in ...

Have a great day

Till soon

Make it a Happy Day

Good morning from a cold and wet UK
The new challenge at Papercraft Star begins today which is to use
Grey and Yellow on your cards or projects ...
This is the lovely inspiration photo

Oh to have a room like this ... I'd invite you all over for tea!

So I mention to you in This post ... that today's card would be very similar ... even though it was made weeks ago for a friends' birthday ... And though Grey and yellow would not normally be my 'go to' colours, I just love them together! So thanks to Jan for this challenge

How I love banners ...
This was created using digital papers by Agnes Biro and Jen Allyson

... And do you see that I threaded my machine with silver thread? I really like the effect if gives to the card ... I used a punch for those little hearts and made use of the positive and the negative

The sentiment is also a digital by Deena Rutter (A kind word) .. a few rhinestones, a rose and some burlap threads complete the card ...

Usually I only make one of a kind when it comes to cards (except for Christmas cards ... when I may do a few similar)... but my SIL came over and saw this and wanted one the same to send to her friend ... so I made another one ... and I'm still not tired of these colours ...

Please take a moment to pop over to the blog and check out the lovely creations from the rest of the DT and get out your greys and yellows and come and join us this week.

In case you wonder where I get these digitals from Here is the link for you ...

Have a beautiful day ... Thanks for visiting me and stay safe
