City Crafter 273

Hello! How are you all?
Ready for a new challenge at City Crafter?

This week we have Kirsty hosting for us and the theme is
Snap

Create a card or project with a camera (can be patterned paper, die cut or embellishment)

Here's my card

I cut out a camera shaped card on the Silhouette and DP to cover the front, then made a sort of shaker lens sealing sequins between acetate

The camera card was adhered to the main card as you can see and the front lifts...

...to reveal the word smile which I cut several times, stacked them and then covered the main one in glossy accents

I also used some DP which has little white cameras on down the left side of the main card

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week ... Hop on over to the
to see what the rest of the team have to inspire you...

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for looking in

Stitch(es)

Happy Sunday and Happy August!

This week at Our Beautiful World we have the prompt
Stitch(es)
Picked for us by the lovely Mandy

This is a lovely make by my Aunt ... It's done with embroidery silks and it's my late GSD Holly
Here's a close up of those stitches

It's hard to photograph as it's in a glass frame but it's pretty amazing huh?
Here's one she did of a cat

I don't do a lot of sewing now but my earlier cards and crafts often featured sewing and stitches

And I think that's why I had to eventually get a new sewing machine!
Now I am addicted to stitched dies

creating faux stitches

We'd love it if you joined in with us this week ... hopefully you won't share anything too gory as in hospital stitches Lol!

Hop on over to the Blog to see what the rest of the team are sharing
And have a beautiful Sunday!

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello there!

I can't believe another week has gone by!

I have a card to share that I made for a friend of my husband, featuring the sun ... something we've not seen much of these past few weeks... Summer seems to have said her goodbyes, she never stays long here.

My card is very much like the one I made Here and I just thought the PTI sentiment was perfect for the design

I have to say that when I first did this the sponged 'sun' look more like a jaffa orange! So I added some gold splats hoping it would look more like the sun Lol!

I'm meeting friends for lunch today but before I dash I just wanted to day a big thank you the the team at Muse Card Challenge for my Honourable Mention this week... I'm delighted!

Have yourselves a wonderful day!

CAS(E) this Sketch

Hello and good morning!

Way back in May,  I was asked by the lovely Chrissy Larson if I would like to Guest Design this week over at

I was thrilled! What an honour!

Here's the sketch for this week

I have to confess that when I saw it I was kinda dumfounded... It took me a while to work out those shapes - I'm pretty pedantic when it comes to sketches so getting those unusual circles shapes right was a challenge

Here's what I came up with

The paint effect paper I used was a free desktop wallpaper I found Here - I just loved those happy colours and to tie them in I sponged Memento Ink in Cantaloupe on some CS cut a bunch of circle shapes, printed a digital paper in the blue shade for the BG and then just cut and fiddled with those shapes till I got it right

Once everything was in place I use a stitched rectangle die to cut it all out and added Ellie and my sentiment

I am so looking forward to seeing what the rest of the team come up with this week so I'm off to the Blog to take a peek ...
Thanks so much Chrissy and the team for having me with you this week - I hope I did this sketch justice

Have a lovely day everyone

City Crafter 272

Good morning everyone

Today starts a new challenge at

This week's challenge has been set by Samra Sadly this is Samra's last week on the DT and we will miss her unique style
Our very best wishes to you Samra!

The challenge this week is to make a Masculine Birthday Card

Here's my card

One of my brother's repairs motorcycles so this will be great for his upcoming birthday
I started by smooshing some distress inks onto watercolour CS, stamped over it and after adding a few black sequins I created a frame with an acetate front

The motorcycle is a sticker I've had for a long time and putting it on top of the acetate meant I didn't lose any of the cut out detail

Our Guest Designer this week is Dana winner of week 267 .. . Do go visit her blog and leave some love and check out what the rest of the DT have created at

We hope you'll join us this week!

Have a great day and be safe

Just a Beach

Hello...
Did you have a good weekend?
We had a very wet day here yesterday ... Not much to do but take it easy...
DH watched golf on TV and I played with some paints...

I did another beach scene ... something that's been going around in my head

I painted the scene using distress inks on watercolour CS ... again I used some art masking fluid to expose some white in the 'sea' then I did some experimenting

First I smeared VersaMark onto the sea part and embossed in clear EP to give it that 'wet' look ... Then I pulled out Fluffy Stuff  by Woodware to get that foam

The little boat was from a free colouring page on the web and I just resized it - printed and painted it and cut it out...
The marks you can just make out in the 'sand' were done by putting some paint on a piece of corrugated CS and dabbing it down ... the dark specks are distress EP sprinkled over a light touch of glue ...

The little green netting under the boat is a piece of old scrunchy - the kind you use in the shower - I painted it too and the tiny pieces of wood were just snapped from a wreath I have
So there we are and even though I think it's kinda cute I'm going to enter it at

And I see I can enter it at
Anything But A Card

Seeing as how this is going on my wall ...

Right I'm off to the hospital today to see my dermatologist so I'll catch you tomorrow
Have a great day and thanks for looking in on me
