A Winter Anniversary

Hello there...

Today it's my wedding anniversary and I'm sharing the card I made for my hubby

Both the sentient stamp and the bird stamp were from Hobbycraft and they only cost £1 each ... The bird stamp doesn't always give full coverage but I love it, so after stamping it I use a marker pen to fill in any missing bits and then stamp over it again... Easy with the Misti

I did some ink blending around the little birds and then stamped the umbrella onto a scrap of CS - cut around it and just drew a line for the handle - After cutting out the rectangle shape, masking off the birds, I then added embossing paste through a stencil and doused it in glitter

The first challenge of the year at AAA Cards is to use glitter

..So I'm entering my card there and hoping it will be CAS enough

I'll be back tomorrow ... Have a great day

Hello!

The first word prompt for 2016

Chosen for us by Kirsty

So whether it's sailing on Calm seas...

Or a place you go to find Calm...

It could be photos of Calm sleepy kitties

As long as it fits the prompt, we at Our Beautiful World would love you to share...

They don't have to be amazing shots, or professional ones ... It's all a bit of fun and a meeting place

Birthday Boys

Hello

I had a few male birthday cards to make in December so I'm sharing one of those today ... I know cards for the men often present a little problem so I tend to play it safe using something like the Clearly Besotted Skyline die which is an 'all occasion" die and a scrap of dottie paper

Plus being in the throws of making Christmas cards at the time, it was difficult to shift gear in my brain and put aside the glitter Lol!

But I think a sparkly 'Birthday' word is ok - after all, the guys don't seem to take that much notice

I now need to come up with an anniversary card for my DH ... We were married January 4th so I'd better get going ...

Oh, I noticed some of you changed your blog headers so I thought I'd give mine a little lift too, I can never decide what to go for so it may change again but for now I'm happy with it.

Have a lovely day - It's wet and miserable here once again - Roll on Spring!

Till soon

New Years Eve 2015

Hello there...

It's the last day of the year and before the new one starts I want to just share the last of my Christmas cards...
Much as I loved making them I'm happy to get back to the usual cards ... I've a lot of birthdays to accommodate this time of year and I've already made quite a few cards which I'll share in the next few weeks...
So here we go ...

I've had a lot of fun with sponging and painting this year

And without doubt my favourite colours have been greens and aquas

Whilst splatters have always been my added extra, come Christmas I just cannot pass on the glitter - I love a little sparkle

And animals of various kinds have featured a lot on my cards this year

I also made a boxed set of everyday cards for my Aunt using digital watercolour images that I've had for the longest time, long before watercolour became a trend

Aren't they pretty? They're by Gail Flores

Whatever you are planning for this evening have a wonderful time and be safe...
Thank you for another wonderful year of creativity, for sharing your creations, your ideas, tips and tricks and most of all for your friendship...

Happy New Year to you all!

Hugs and Love

Birthday Boy

Hello and good morning!

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and Santa brought you lots of goodies... The severe weather in Texas and the floods in the UK caused a lot of grief I know, and my heart goes out to all who have suffered...

I still have a few Christmas cards to share but today is a special day ... It's Mike's  birthday, my son is 33 years old today - I can hardly believe it!
This is the card I made for him

I used some Christmas stamps to make this ... They were in the sale and I ordered them ages ago but they didn't arrive in time for Christmas

Still, I think these little guys are fine for a winter birthday and I had to add the black cat because our black cat Gypsy adores Mike

I used the Gansai Tambi paints for my BG ... They really are lovely to use - even for a non artist like me and the music strip was cut on my Cameo

We had a really quiet Christmas and I relaxed a lot over the past few days so It's taken me awhile to get back into card making and blogging...

Wishing you all a lovely day... Take care
