City Crafter 333

Hello... How are you all?

On top of my cold I somehow managed to get the stomach flu too - I'm taking my own advice for once and resting a much as possible and hoping that things improve soon.

So, today we have a new challenge at City Crafter, chosen for us by Marina
The theme is "Did I Make You Up"

Marina is asking that we create a project that features something that may not exist...e.g. A Mythical creature or a hidden element

I decided to go with a little fairy
Here's my card

I did a watercolour BG and added specks of gold for my fairy sitting under the tree

She was cut on my Cameo along with the tree frame and  I added a computer generated sentiment

Our Guest Designer this week is Gerdine winner of our challenge for week 326... Click the link to go visit her blog.

As always the team have more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog

Have yourselves a beautiful day

CAS Watercolour

Hello...

Well, hubby and I had a wonderful holiday and now I'm home and already I've caught a head cold, I guess I need to go back Lol!

Visiting some of my blog friends this week I discovered a new monthly challenge called CAS Watercolour

What a great idea for a challenge and one I had to join in. The first challenge as you can see is Autumn and here's what I came up with

It's definitely challenging for me to make it CAS and original... In the end I used Gansai Tambi paints in various autumnal shades on watercolour paper and when it was dry I took a Tim Holtz scribble and splat die to cut out the horizontal shapes.

Then I used a Memory Box die to cut out a tree and painted it with gold metallic paint

So that's my version of CAS watercolour ... I'm already looking forward to the next challenge.

I hope you are enjoying your day and my thoughts are with those of you affected by the recent hurricane... Be safe!

Better late than never...

Hello friends...

Well, I thought I had scheduled all the necessary DT posts before I went off on holiday, but it seems I somehow missed the post for

where the prompt was Autumn, so here are a few photos

Autumn in the garden is quite late this year but there are signs

Don't you just love the colours nature gives us?

The tall trees are clinging tightly to their leaves though some have started to change hue... Yellow, red and gold

The berries are in no doubt what time of year it is as they put on a magnificent display

...Like tiny little pumpkins

For the wildlife to feast on

I love this time of year, albeit chilly, the colours that Autumn bring are like lighting the fire for the winter to come....

Link up at Our Beautiful World and head on over to the blog to see what everyone else is sharing

Enjoy your day

Double D Challenges

Hi there...

This is another scheduled post, this time for my DT project at

Where team Diane are hosting with
"Pumpkin Time"

Aren't they gorgeous photos?

Here's my card

Now, I'm not one for praising my own creations but I am particularly pleased with how this one turned out.. Once again I've used a digital image from a colouring page as I don't own any stamps or dies for pumpkins, and I manipulated the image to create this arrangement and then coloured them with Copic Ciaos...

Before I print my finished image, I reduce the opacity right down so there are only the faintest of lines to guide me when colouring and I'm so pleased with my colouring on this... Ok, so it's not perfect and I only have a few Copic Ciaos but it's my best yet...
The leaves and the sentiment were cut on my cameo then I sponged the leaves with distress inks and added Mod Podge dimensional - For the sentiment and the wheat I smooshed Versamark over them and then embossed with copper E/B.

As always both our designers have created some wonderful projects to inspire you this week, go take a peek on the blog and link up your creations.

I hope to be able to catch up with you soon...

Have a great day

City Crafter 332

Hi there ...
I'm due to fly home today so this is another scheduled post...

Stella is hosting our challenge at City Crafter this week and she's picked a photo Inspiration challenge for us

There's quite a bit to go on there, the colours the twine the envelopes...
Here's my take...

I used my paints for the background to capture all the colours in the objects
and seeing the envelopes, I stamped on top with a postal themed stamp

...A little bit of twine on the tag - also picked out from the photo and the deer was added for interest and also to capture the black areas in the photo

We'd love to see what you come up with ... The team have more inspiration on the City Crafter Blog for you and this week our Guest Designer is Agnieszka Kieler ... Click the link to visit her blog, it's well worth a visit, she makes beautiful creations!

Wishing you all a fabulous day

Till soon
