Blue and Yellow

Well here we are at the end of April...
My, that month went so very quickly but here's hoping that May will bring warm drier weather
My lilac tree is laden this year and so beautiful but the heavy rains left it looking like a weeping willow!

I've been making a few cards using up all the background pieces I have, some printed, some painted and some ink blended... Today's card uses scraps of ink blended pieces that I stamped flowers on

The circular loom is a die I've had for ever and I don't think I've used it before... I cut it from a piece of printed card and inlaid it back into the card by using acetate behind

The flower stamp is a set I picked up at The Works for £1 - I think they are so pretty and stamp really well but as there are no dies to go with them, I had to fussy cut them

I'll share some more soon...

I also wanted to that the teams at CAS Watercolour and CAS Stencil for the Outstanding design awards  this month... I don't enter many challenges but I do love the CAS ones.

My blog friend Pat also alerted me to a challenge over at
Pixie's Crafty Workshop
Where the challenge is to use up your bits or snippets so I'm going to enter this card there too.
Have a wonderful day/ evening

Just Bits

Hello!!
I'm back from holiday and though I'm not in card making mode yet, I'm eager to see what you've all been up to... I hope you had a wonderful Easter

I am so happy to be home... The weather we were greeted with was absolutely awful! Cold, wet and the wind was like a mini hurricane...Needless to say I never got to wear any of the summer tops I made...

This was how it looked most days - Empty sunbeds

There were a few sunny intervals...

But and as you can tell from the sky, rain was never far away

One of the best things was that we bumped into my friend Jeanie, can you believe it!
We both worked together for years - She was the boss's typist... I became the boss's wife Lol!

Jeanie and her husband are coming up for 80 years old and go to Nerja twice a year so they were able to tells us a lot about the place, where to eat and what to see.
We got to see the Easter Semanta in the town square and it was so moving and beautiful. Nerja is a lovely place (it's in Spain near Malaga Sue Lelli). But I am happy to be home even though it's wet and cold here too.

As I said I haven't done any crafting but I have a card to share that I made from more bits and pieces

...before I went away

As you can imagine I've done mostly laundry and grocery shopping since I came home...
Hopefully my mojo will return soon...
I'm off to visit your blogs, I can't wait to see what you've been creating

I hope you are having a wonderful day

Dreamcatcher and A Cat Mystery....

Hello and happy Sunday...

This will probably be my last post for awhile... We are away in a few days and over the Easter period so Mikey is in charge of the house and the cats. Talking of which, Missy is now fully fit and Tabby? Well that's a mystery.

You know of our disastrous attempts to catch him and have a vet see to his festering sore and hopefully get him neutered once and for all to prevent these injuries not to mention hundreds of unwanted kittens!
So, imagine our surprise when he turned up for his tea time feed a couple of days ago with the fur around the sore gone and the sore itself no longer infected!!! WTH!! Come on!
Over 5 years we've looked after this boy, fed him, built a house for him, regularly given him worming tablets, flea stuff and pain medication when he's been injured. Heck, we even nursed him round the clock when he got flu. So unless he fixed himself, or some kind soul managed to trapped him and had him treated, but not neutered??? He never was a stray and his owners are totally irresponsible.

At least he is okay and that's the main thing.

Okay, on to my card which features a die I've had for a few months (Aliexpress) and never got around to using

I cut the feather part of the die again from a scrap of triple embossed card I still had and overlaid them on top of the originals... I even got the centre heart out of that scrap Lol!

Then I thought it would look better with a frame to match so I die cut a frame, added Versamark to it and used my embossing powders a few times...

The stenciled background piece was one I did ages ago and never used... It was stenciled from a die cut.

I'm wishing you all a blessed Easter... The UK temperatures are set to soar for that weekend too
Be safe, don't eat too much chocolate and I'll catch up when we get back

Hugs

Sweet Dreams

Hello friends... How's your week going?

It's been all cats here... Missy got sick and had to see the vet yesterday... She doing better now but the feral tabby cat we feed turned up over the weekend with a very badly infected sore on his face. The vet agreed to see to him if we could get him there at 9am this morning. Well, my son and I did everything we could to get him in the pet carrier but to no avail. Despite being prepared my son was covered in scratches. So we will just have to try again or maybe get a trap from somewhere...

Today's card is another one made from bits and pieces

The background piece was done using the ghosting technique and part of a lovely stencil gifted to me by my dear blog friend Greta. You know when you get something new and you just have to try it out... Then it gets left until inspiration comes...

The die cuts were left overs from Christmas and I cut the stars from a tiny piece of triple embossed card that I kept

I added a few liquid pearls and a computer generated sentiment...

If you were to look out of my window today, it looks like a glorious summer day... The sun is shining but it's cold. Still, only just over a week to go and DH and I will be on a sunny beach in Nerja (fingers crossed), one time we went away in April and it poured with rain the whole time...But I'm staying positive!

I hope you enjoy your day

Till soon

CAS Stencil

Good morning...
The weekend has started well... The wind has dropped and the sun is shining... Couldn't be better.

Today's card is for the CAS Stencil challenge

It's been that long since I used any paste 2 of the pots just would not open. Thankfully I had one by Wendy Vecchi that I was able to open and there was still a little paste left.

For the stencil I used a die cut and then tried something I haven't done before, not sure if it would work ... I sprinkled some silver embossing powder from a height whilst holding my stenciled card upright... I wanted to try and get a little silver on there to bring out the silver backing on my leaf, but I didn't want too much.

Then I used a heat gun on the reverse side first and then on the front to melt the embossing powder... Low and behold it worked!

I added a little frame and a stamped clear embossed sentiment to finish... By the way the leaf was one of a bunch I made a while ago.

I hope you have a lovely weekend...

Take care

Simple Poppies

Hello from a very wintery UK...
I don't know what happened to Spring but Winter decided to pay us another visit again... Thankfully we don't have snow here in Liverpool but lots of the country has

Staying warm I made a card for this months challenge at  CAS Watercolour Challenge....

I promise you that these were the easiest poppies to do

I painted a piece of cardstock ... I applied water to a piece of cardstock and splodged several colours of Gansai Tambi paint randomly, allowing them to just flow and then dried it.

Once dry I stamped and embossed lots poppies and fussy cut them. Then I stamped and embossed again onto a small piece of card and layered the fussy cut poppies and buds.
The stamp is an old one by Technique Tuesday and only has 2 poppies on it but I decided to add more - Well, I didn't want to waste them Lol!

When I used to travel to Lincoln to see my aunt I loved seeing the many fields of poppies... I miss that and I miss my aunt....

Oh just realised that this card also fits the bill at Double D Challenge

What a lovely mood board!

I hope you enjoy your day...

Till soon

Five Minute Card

Hello... 2 posts in 2 days!

Well actually I saw the challenge at AAA Card Challenge

...And one of the cards I made yesterday literally took minutes as it was made from all leftovers

The background with the pretty painted flowers (Morning Glory?) was a digital I've had for about 10 years... I used to print lots of them for my special needs group to make cards and had some over

The little bunny and the die cut 'trellis' were both in my bits box so all I had to add was an embossed sentiment...Couldn't be quicker

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by

Bonjour

Hello...
Happy April and Happy Spring

Yesterday was Mother's Day here in the UK plus the clocks went forward an hour so Spring is officially here....

I put the sewing machine away today and finally made some cards using die cuts and background pieces I had been holding on to. This card even has a cat image I salvaged from a birthday card I received last January...

He's like my cat snoozing in the garden....You can see the sparkle on the painted BG from this angle

I'm slowly making a little dent in all the leftover bits... It's like doing a jigsaw putting them together

I'll share some more soon - right now my cats need feeding as does my husband!

Enjoy your day/evening
