Good morning sweet blog friends ... it's a new challenge at City Crafter today and this week our lovely Kirsty is hosting ... the theme she has chosen for us is "By the sea ..." and this is the lovely inspiration photo
I love this picture ... reminds me of days gone by ... once when I was little my parents took my two brothers and I to the beach ... of course my brothers were playing in the dunes and were supposed to keep an eye on their little sister ... I was about 4 ... but they ran off and left me somewhere on the dunes ... I can still remember it ... I could hear my Mum calling but couldn't see her ... then our faithful German Shepherd came bounding up the dunes and found me ... She continued to bark until my parents got to us ... what a relief!
Anyway ... back to the challenge ... we have the talented Shannon Baker a digital stamp designer as our sponsor this week and the DT all got to use one of her pretty stamps ... the challenge is to create a card or project related to the sea ... I used the lovely lighthouse stamp ...
I actually painted this using Photoshop on the computer ... even the clouds ...
I printed the image twice and ran one through my Sizzix using my TH brick embossing folder then cut out just the lighthouse and paper pieced it ...
Can you see the brick effect?
my papers are a mix of digital ... the text paper from Antique findings by Jen Allyson and some TH paper ... everything else is from my stash ... the little starfish was a charm from a bracelet ... just had to use that ... Our Guest Designer this week is the very talented Steph aka Sweet Craf-Tea Chick please pop by and welcome her ... and check out all the cards from the rest of the DT ...
So ... I hope you will join us again this week ... everyone likes the sea right? and you can use anything related to the sea ... boats ... deck chairs ... umbrellas ... beach huts ... whatever comes to mind ... just have fun!
Have a lovely day ... keep safe
