A first attempt ...

I know that at times the worldwide web can be a nuisance ... But I wonder where I would be without it

I have always loved creativity of one sort or another ... but the technology just didn't exist when I was a child ... I learnt to sew, to knit and I loved to draw ... though I wasn't that brilliant at it ... but good enough to get an O level pass in art at high school ...
Painting though was never my forte and I could ruin a perfectly decent drawing by adding paint ...
Now a whole new world has opened up and each day I can not only see beautiful creations ... I can learn techniques ... things I'd never heard of are there in front of my eyes for me to feast on and to challenge me ...

I'm not saying that I love everything I see ... but I appreciate the talent, the effort and the expertise ...
I have a whole list of things I want to do ... one day ...

And now I can tick one thing off my list ... Mixed Media ... many of my sweet blog friends are so very good at this ... Linda ... Kirsty and Mona to name a few ... and when I saw a link yesterday on Mona's blog  (Thanks Mona) ... I followed it and that got me started ...

To make this 5"x 7" canvas

and this tiny 2"x 2.75" canvas

And looking at them ... though they are not perfect ... I have a wonderful sense of achievement

... and I'll definitely be doing this again ...

Thanks for stopping by

Isn't it wonderful to try new techniques? This is definitely one that suits you fine Ros, love the result (gesso is it?). It gives your canvas such a mystic look somehow! Have a great weekend, hugs, Ira

Hi!
Thanks, Ros, for your nice comment!
Oh, I never tried Mixed Media art, but I´m sure if I would - it would never look as good as yours!! I like your butterfly-mini-canvas best :-) That´s because I´m a huge fan of butterflies - I always favour them :-)
Have a fab week!
Hugs
