Bird and Feather

Hi there!

I've had a good week! I was up with the winners again this week at
The Mod Squad Challenge I'm so happy and very grateful ... Thanks so much!

I haven't made a card yet for this week's challenge but I do have a card to share

I came across Lia Griffiths DIY paper feathers yesterday and thought I give them a try as I don't have any feather stamps or dies ...

Here's what I came up with...

I cut my feather from paper by MME and the background paper is from Me and My Big Ideas - I stamped script and ink splats for more effect

When I first went to high school - many moons ago - we had these awful plastic pens with a nib and there were inkwells in the old wooden desks ... It was impossible to be neat ... the ink would splat everywhere!

Emails and texts are fine ... but I love an old fashioned letter and that's what my card is really about

As I have a little bird as well as a feather on my card, it fits the challenge at

So that's where I'll be entering this

I hope you have a lovely day ... the sun is shining here

Till soon, take care and thanks so much for visiting me

~ Ros ~

Oh I just love your feather especially with that pen nib Ros. The sea tones are so pretty and these ink splats look just right. Hugs!

I'm in love with your smashing card Ros, love everything about it, from the fabulously stamped/altered paper to the feather, superbly done! When I was five, we, too, learnt how to write with ink nibs (and had sheets of green ink blotting paper for the ink well drips). Fountain pens were only allowed at secondary school. Pretty old school, come to think of it, but I went to an old-fashioned catholic school run by fathers and nuns (nice and good ones, thank heavens!) Have a lovely evening, I'm going to enjoy your fab card again ;-) Hugs, Ira x

I absolutely love the colors and that feather is beautiful, too! I totally agree with you about actual letters... and I'm just now reading a book that's a compilation of letters, many of them presented as scans. "Letters of Note", in case you're interested.

I am blessed with the fact that I am writing with my left hand and never learnt to use a fountain pen. I know what you mean about these inkwells in wooden desks; we had them too. But they we not used when I was in school ( But my sisters had to use them...)

Your card is lovely; I love the feather trend but do not have feather dies and stamps. You created this all by yourzelf and it looks stunning. Love the ink splats and that color scheme. This card IS a jaw dropper!
Sending hugs,
