I'm off to Lincoln this weekend to stay with my Aunt for a while ... I've been debating whether to take anything with me to 'play' with ... or maybe I should just take a break?
Not a lot to share today ... just a gift for a sweet blog friend who 'enables' me to get things I couldn't easily get myself... like some PTI dies one of which was the phone cover die
I had some fabric in my drawer that was just her colour but despite using an iron - on backing and lining it ... it still frayed (sigh) Thus I am calling it a Shabby Chic phone cover Lol!
Now, you may think that I could have just cut out two rectangles to make this ... and true I could have done and machine stitched it ... done in no time (with no fraying) The thing is I was hoping that I could use this as a project for my special needs group - cut out 20+ in double quick time ... and with the holes already in for them to sew it would be terrific...
Unfortunately I have discovered that the holes don't 'punch' that well even with my felt and pricking out for one is not too bad ... but for over 20 sheesh! But I'm sure I can still use this die to make gifts
I also used the Luggage Tag die to make a "Thank You" note to insert into the pouch

Ever so sweet, Ros! What a great gift, and I love that big blossom, too! I'd let PTI know about the holes not die-cutting well. Sometimes they do that with fabric, but there shouldn't be any fraying, for sure, with felt. I guess I'm not super familiar with PTI dies, but I've worked with lots of others and am thinking there may be an issue with your die... at least I'd hope so, if you're having those problems.
What a cute project Ros! Great mix of fabric and lace! The blossom is beautiful! Did you use a metal shim when die cutting?

Have you tried with a metal "shim" between the bottom cutting plate and your fabric? I always use one when I am using dies. If you don' have one, let me know ;)
Well, Ros, I think your phone cover and tag for Sue are just perfect! I love all the sweet details and the colors!! It's a wonderful thank you gift and I'm sure she will love them!!

I was eyeing that die too Ros. Didn't know if I'd use it enough to justify buying it so I may just do what you said and create my own case. Yours turned out lovely. I like the pretty flower and cheery fabric. Hugs!

Oh how pretty, and what a lovely gift!!! Gorgeous colors and what a fun die...you might need a shim to get the holes to cut...every machine works different so not sure...but I like it with the fraying..a lot!!
