Hello ...
It's not often I make something just for me but It's pretty dismal here ... Grey skies and rain showers...
Even Ginger cat has found an old box to curl up in here in my craft room
I'm missing the beach ... been thinking about it a lot lately ... When I came across this on Pinterest
That was it ... I had to try and replicate it ... just for me ... to sit on my desk
I started with the 'sea' by randomly adding some art masking fluid on Watercolour card and then painting with various Distress Stains ... Not too bad...
...once I peeled off that masking fluid to reveal the white CS underneath and added a few splashes of water...
I decided to type out the words on my computer and print them onto acetate ... So far so good but it needed a little more
So I added some embellishments including a starfish I'd made from clay and painted - I used the same paint to colour some cardstock and die cut out the word LOVE several times and stacked it - same with the little heart.....
The rope at the top holds the acetate to the painted BG and that was then adhered with foam tape onto a scrap piece of cardboard which I had torn and given a wash of white paint ... Finally I glued it to my card base
I'm going to enter this at Anything But Cute
And also at AAA Cards
And would you believe the sun has now just appeared??
Have a great day

Totally gorgeous, Ros. I am lucky to still be at the beach, although with my folks' health problems summer is not all about fun this year. But I know that art would make me and my craft room very happy too. Enjoy it, it's beautiful. Thanks for joining us this month at the MMCC.
Super fun, girl! Great embellishing, and that verse is so true and so utterly refreshing at the same time.
What a treasure this is going to be on your desk. I love every single thing that you did. It all comes together as this wonderfully refreshing piece of art that brings you straight to the oceanside. :-)
No wonder the sun just appeared! This is so FANTASTIC and I know it makes you happy having it at your desk. Brilliant, Ros!
Wow, Ros! I don't think I can say anything that's not already been said about this amazing piece of inspiring artwork! I LOVE your background, and I must check to see if I have any of that masking fluid in my drawers--seems like I do! Perfect colors to match our mood board, and of course, to depict a peaceful beach! I love the use of the twine at the top and that clay starfish you made! Thank you for joining our Summer Romance challenge at Anything But Cute with this beautiful beach scene and perfect quote--I'm happy you took time to make something for yourself, too! Hugs! Wow, how gorgeous! Brilliant summer piece.
This is a truly fantastic card. I am a big beach lover, and this is perfect beach, summery, watery work. Our challenge at AAA Cards is Clean And Simple, and this does not fit into that category, but it is a fantastic card all the same.
This has the essence of summer by the sea. Fabulous.
Great project! Really captured the whole summer feel! Cxx

It worked! How could the sun stay away?! A stunning creation you'd find in a pricey boutique, but it wouldn't be this good! You're an artist, my friend!
