Stone

Good morning...

Wen has chosen the new word prompt for us this week at

The word is Stone

Here we go.....

Stone walls built before 79AD and still standing... This is part of the remains of Herculaneum Italy, buried like Pompeii when Mount Vesuvius erupted...

People turned to stone... and stone relics in Pompeii

I apologise for the poor quality of this but it is another place I will never forget... standing on the stones at The Acropolis of Athens ... This was taken nearly 40 years ago when visitors were allowed to climb the steep road to the top... It was one heck of a climb as I remember and in searing heat!

I may have shared this before.. stone walls and a road in one of the many narrow back streets of Majorca...
And a little closer to home...

...The beautiful countryside of Wales, where rocks and stones are just about everywhere and rivers and streams dance ....

And in my garden ... small stones where a young bird hunts for insects

Will you link up with us this week?

Hop on over to the Blog to see what everyone else is sharing

Have a beautiful day

A beautiful post dear Ros, I love your interpretation of the word! Beautiful photos of wonderful places. Pompeii I visited many years ago. It's scary to think what happened to the people. The sitting figure, hiding and covering, is so intense to look at and to think about what happened. Italy, Wales and Greece are such wonderful places to visit. Majorca I have never visited, but I'd love to. I love traveling through Europe! xx (ps, I haven't had the time yet to post my blog post for OBW...)
