Watercolour Card

Hello there

I've no idea where this week went ... I can't believe it's Thursday already. Hubby is due home early Saturday morning and it feels like he's only just gone!

I was going to catch up with friends this week but other than Pat and I getting together for our weekly craft time, that was it. It's been so cold and we've had really heavy rain, it even kept the cats in. They're like children and get frustrated being indoors so start chasing each other and then a spat ensues. It's crazy!

So yesterday, whilst Pat 'borrowed' a few of my card ideas and set to work on them, I pulled out my paints... Seems I have better results using ordinary CS and just 'playing' then when I'm using watercolour CS and really trying..

This was just a random piece, having painted the background I wanted to try stamping my trees first onto wet with ink to get the blurry effect and then once it was dry with Versamark and E/P.

I quite like the result of the ink flowing into the paint... What do you think?

I'm going to enter this at Try It On Tuesday

Where the theme is Trees

Whilst I've been writing this post Macy, the neighbours cat, made her usual visit for biscuits and would you believe that she and Missy had a fight through the glass! Man they're driving me nuts!

I really need to get out more Lol!

Wishing you a lovely day

Till soon

I think this is lovely , it looks very 3-dimensional with the embossing on the trees, and that sky...wow..super!

It's freaking cold here too! Well it's not as cold as it is on the North Pole but due to Dutch standards it's cold :) It's great to see and read the whole process of this card. Starting with watercolouring and stamping immediately on a "wet"background. The result and effect is gorgeous. And adding a layer with heat embossed trees makes it even more gorgeous.
I guess Missy is the housekeeper:) And she might think that Macy is an intruder. They certainly know how to keep you busy!
Take care,

Wow Ros, this is amazing! The rolling grassy hills are so beautiful and I love the effect you achieved with the stamping on a wet background, looks like shadows being swept away by the wind!! We love our pets, but sometimes they do drive us bonkers, don't they. lol.

The embossing looks so cool on the inked trees. Beautiful painting job. At least you're being entertained while your stuck inside. LOL Hugs!

This turned out so beautiful, Ros! It looks like a real mixed media canvas. And you didn't even use watercolor paper? Sheesh! Love the sky and, yes, the green bleeding out from the trees is a really cool effect. In fact, it seems to give the trees more dimension. Even with all the kitty distractions you did an amazing job!

Fabulous effect, the trees look totally dimensional.

The effect of that "bleeding" ink is wonderful! And yes, it's been cold around here as well - just heard they opened the ski slopes here in the "middle" part of Germany, at 30cm of snow! Gets me right into Christmas mood!
