Pen and Paint

Hi there...

I spent New Year's day playing with my paints... We'd been out celebrating on New Year's eve and we were both really tired so we had a lazy day

I thought I'd try something a little different for me ... Mixing some watercolours and then drawing over it... I had so much fun and I have one of my cards to share which I'm entering in 2 challenges
Happy Little Stampers - where I've never played before

...and The Mixed Media Card Challenge where the theme is change

Well a butterfly is all about change

Can you believe last week there were butterflies in my garden? In december!
The only stamping on here is the word smile and the flowerhead

I drew the butterfly once the paint was dry and drew a stem for my flower
As always I just used plain cardstock and I'm still experimenting with how it handles... I found that once I dried this I could go back and add more paint...

My hubby has gone to the match today and it's given me time to do some de-cluttering on my computer.

I hope you are enjoying your day - I'll be back tomorrow for the new challenge at CCCB

Take care

~ Ros ~

Absolutely adore this card! Loving the watercolour splash so much and I can't believe you've had butterflies in your garden at this time of year! Thank you also for your comment on my blog... I felt really moved by that story and I just couldn't believe it at the same time... You are such a great person and you have such a beautiful soul. Your friend will know that looking at us from above... Sending you lots of hugs xx

This is beautiful, Ros! I love how you combined the watercolors and the stamping. Your drawing and the lovely colors are superb. Great design and perfect for both challenges. Thanks for playing along at HLS Watercolor Challenge and at The Mixed Media Card Challenge.

Wow Ros! Your butterfly is fabulous - do you design stamps? I love your watercolour background. I find it depends on the cardstock - some bead more than others, but I just use less water. It's hard to find a very white watercolour paper. Thanks so much for joining us in our last challenge at the MMCC:)

Wait... what? You drew the butterfly? Next thing you know I'll be buying your stamps. Always the most fabulous watercolor backgrounds. I'm thinking I'll have to try watercolors on plain card stock. You get the most amazing results! Colors are beautiful, too! Happy new year!
