Hello there...
There was a dreadful fire in a London tower block this week which touched my heart... Looking at how quickly the fire spread and the billowing smoke, I couldn't help but think of 9/11... So many lives have been lost and many changed for ever... My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved...
I haven't done much crafting for myself this week, though Pat and I did have a creative and busy afternoon on Wednesday, but today I had to make a card for a friend and neighbour who has a birthday tomorrow....
I still have lots of those vellum leaves around - I cut tons for the wedding invitations I did so I'm using some here, along with a little silver thread and some Nuvo drops
Rather than just inlaying the centre, I wanted to add a little interest by tilting it and I'm pleased with the result... I hope she likes it too.
You remember I told you that we are off to The Netherlands in July to visit Stella as our husband's football teams are to play each other? Well, it seems the Mayor of Groningen was not happy about the match and cancelled it Lol! We are still going of course, everything had been booked and paid for but the guys won't get to enjoy a little bit of rivalry.
Have a lovely day and enjoy your upcoming weekend

I pulled out my MFT stamps and dies for this one, citron distress ink for the BG and my copics to colour the flowers

Oh my goodness--you've outdone yourself again, Ros! Absolutely stunning card with gorgeous coloring & wonderful design! Seriously--he cancelled the match?! Oh well, I know everyone will have a great time!
So sad to hear about the fire, it was really scary just to watch it on TV.
I hope you have a great time in Netherlands, that is one place I would visit again and again!
Beautiful card with those gorgeous flowers!
Wow what a beautiful birthday card did you make Ros. I love the colors of the flowers but it is the layout/design of your card that makes me go "Aaaah"...
How nice that your visiting The Netherlands in July but what a pitty that the match is cancelled.
Greetings Miranda
Strikingly beautiful, bright, and fun! I absolutely LOVE it! The soft yellow background with the vellum leaves... so gorgeous with the vivid blue flowers. Love the tilt out of the frame and the glittery "birthday". Another awe inspiring card, Ros. I wonder what kind of problem the mayor had with the match? I saw the fire on the news and was shocked and saddened. It seems to have gotten out of control so quickly. I'm surprised more lives weren't lost, but even one is too much. Last I heard there were 17. Such a tragedy.
What a shame about the football but glad you are still going to visit Stella x Such a pretty card with the citron and that fabulous vibrant blue. Popping the die cut on the tilt is so creative and eye catching. The delicacy of the vellum and the thread is so attractive and what a beautiful card for your friend and neighbour x
Just gorgeous Ros! LOVE the idea of tilting the panel and your brilliant blue color really makes it pop! Fabulous overall design ... I have no doubt she will LOVE it!! Thanks for beautiful inspiration (again!) LOL! HUGS
P.S. Yes, my heart aches for all those families affected by that tragic fire. So sad!
LOVE those blue flowers - your coloring is Fabulous! - and I love the vellum leaves. The tilt is so interesting! She will LOVE it!
How lucky you get to travel and see Stella! Will the tulips be in bloom? I've always wanted to see that!
Just LOVE this birthday card, Ros! The recipient I'm sure will love it, too! The bright blue flowers against the soft yellow background is stunning! The vellum leaves and glittery sentiment are perfect, too! Too bad about the match being cancelled, but am happy to hear that you are still going to have a great visit with Stella, enjoy!!

Another beautiful card from your creative nook! And yes, 9/11 was the first thought I had, too, when I saw pictures of that burning tower. What a tragedy.
This is so pretty, Ros! You've managed to combine soft yellow, pillowy leaves, and bright bold blue blooms beautifully!!

Your dear country has suffered so many terrible blows lately Ros. My heart goes out to you all. So many innocent lives taken. :-( Well I'm glad you still get to enjoy your part of the visit. LOL The card is gorgeous. I love the colors and the addition of the vellum leaves. Angling the center piece really does add a lot to the design.
