A Tropical Storm

Good morning!
No... we're not having a tropical storm... Though it is positively tropical here and we could do with a storm believe me... Who ever thought that the NW of the UK would be hoping for rain?

The title really relates to my card today ... I played with some alcohol inks and pulled out a die sent to me by my dear friend Greta. The result made me think of a tropical storm... What do you think?

I layered up that lovely little lighthouse and ran it through my big shot in a brick embossing folder just to give it some texture and used the edging of one of the wavy die frames as a base

The word sentiment is a rubon... Rememeber them? I discovered a lot of them in one of my cupboards.. Honestly I really do need to find the time (and the inclination) to have a clear out

I think the best thing to do is not to go through anything just hand over all those boxes I never open  to Pat.. Otherwise it'll be "well maybe I'll use that..." Lol! And anyway, Pat will have so much fun going through everything.

I had a visit this week from my 2 brothers... One lives not to far away and we see each other regulary but the other one I don't get to see from one year to the next so it was a nice surprise for us all to be together.

I hope you all have a super day and a great weekend and before I go a big Thank You to the team at CAS Watercolour for the HM... Made my day!

Till soon

Lovely card Ros...you are so artistic! and yes it does remind me of a tropical storm. As for sorting your stuff...well I've supposedly been doing that this past year..hmm...after the heat wave I shall resume with determination...there we have it in writing! Reading other peoples blogs they all feel the same...pity we cant organise a country wide swap shop!..lol

This card is absolutely STUNNING Ros!! I love the die cut you used...the lighthouse and waves look amazing with that FABULOUS alcohol ink background! Definitely looks like a tropical storm at it's height!! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)

I do see that tropical storm! This is a creative work of brilliance, Ros! Love how you added the brick embossing to the lighthouse. The waves, the water's edge, the black frame to set off the drama of the storm -- fantastic! We could use some rain here, too. It's all falling in the eastern half of the US. I think they'd like to share some of it.

Such a fabulous design!
I am in the middle of cleaning up the stash as well, just don't know where to find room for those things, LOL!

WOW, WOW, WOW Ros, this is gorgeous! I'm lost for words on this one. Love everything about this, your alcohol ink background, your textured lighthouse and your waves - magnificent! Yes, I have lots of those rub ons as well, hardly ever think to use them. I just gave one of my friends tons and tons of stamps & punches that I don't use. It hardly put a dent into what I still have - lol! Oh well at least they are going to someone who can use them. Have a great weekend, it's going to be a super hot one here in Ontario - they have heat warnings out tomorrow and sunday with temps in the 90's feeling like 111F (or 44C).

I have been working steadily for a week on my craft room and now am done except for all my CS and DSP's...ugh. It is going to be such a joy to create again in my uncluttered room:-) All worth the effort. Love and Hugs...Nancy

So, so glad I sent you that die, Ros! Brilliant idea to brick emboss it & that AI background is stunning! Send Pat over to my place after you load her up & I'll do the same--haha! So glad you got to spend some time with your brothers. Sending big hugs, Greta

Your beautiful Alcohol Ink background does look like a tropical storm sky, Ros! Love the colors you used, the added texture of the lighthouse and the waves! The black bold frame gives the dynamic scene definition. Hideko xx

That background is gorgeous Ros and I love how you gave the lighthouse some texture. The black frame adds drama to your stormy scene too!
I hope the heat isn't getting to you too much and that you are keeping well. I am having a hard time motivating myself to craft and thought I would have a clear out, but I barely started on one drawer before I gave up. It seems churlish to moan and I really do love sunshine but I need the mercury to drop so I can enjoy it!

How lovely to see your brothers together - siblings can be such a gift when we're all grown up. I love your card. The background looks like a seaside with palm trees swaying.

Back from vacation and popped on over to see what you have 'been up to'. It's 3:30 am here and I woke up hot and couldn't go back to sleep so here I am lol! This card is stunning and you make the BEST backgrounds ever and you always make me want to get my alcohol inks out time and again! I did get so far to list the colors I have, now to use them! Anyways a stunningly beautiful card!!

These surprise visits are the best! Good that you had such a great time. Love the card - though my first thought was "fireworks!" Come to think of it - that may not be all too far away from a tropical storm...
