Hello there
It's almost a week since I posted... where does the time go?
Actually I haven't done much in the way of card making lately... Just life getting in the way- Like visiting the dentist...
If you've come to see my card... Just skip down as this could be a little long.
Okay, I'm not the only one who doesn't like dentists... Even my lovely lady dentist said she didn't like going to the dentist (figure that one). But one tooth top left was giving me trouble so after my check up last week I was booked in for Tuesday to have a filling and at the same time she was replacing an old filling. Simple huh? Yeah right! I got two injections, they hurt, and then was tilted so far back I was virtually upside down when the equipment stopped working. 10 minutes and 4 assistants later problem solved. Now by this time my tongue had gone completely numb... I mean really! But according to the dentist it was having a party in my mouth and would not stay still... Soooo embarrassing! Maybe it was the blood rushing to my head... I was still upside down after all. And I'm sure the human mouth is not designed to take 3 fists either... Why oh why does the assistant stick that water sucker-upper thingy so far back that you are choking?? And whatever happened to the little breaks when they brought the chair back up and the blood stopped rushing to your head and you got to gargle with the pink stuff over a tiny sink?
Finally.. An hour later I was good to go and the lovely lady gave me a mirror to check out my tooth.. Wait I have to put my glasses on... Okay so how do I see my tooth? Well it's right there on the bottom left... What??? Well, explained the lovely lady... That one looked a bit jagged so I fixed it. Oh... well that was nice... I also replaced the old filling top right... Great! Not that either gave me the slightest problem...And the top left, the reason I came here... faced my worst fears said me slurring with my now lopsided mouth... Oh no said the lovely lady... I didn't do that... Couldn't find a thing wrong with it... ARGH!!!!
Now you see why I don't like going to a dentist... Give me spine surgery any day!
Onto today's card which is for my friend Pat who celebrates her birthday this weekend
I pulled out a little bling for this one along with the Cameo to cut the flower shape both from white card for the negative space and then again from silver grey card for the inlay
I used distress inks to blend on the card base with some water splatters and though it's hard to see here... I also splattered with pewter distress stain
I hope she likes it...
Well that's it for today... I hope your week is going well
Till soon

I am sure Pat will love it Ros...it's lovely! Wish her Happy Birthday from me! xx
So sorry you had a nightmare time at the dentist, it is never pleasant but it sounds as though yours was more prolonged and uncomfortable than it need have been. I did a little bit of dental nursing latterly to help out at very small local surgery where I had always been a patient, this was quite a while ago, about twelve years, as I left when we moved to the West Country. I think your dentist needs pulling up if she is not informing you of exactly what she is doing, and if things change after she starts she should stop and check with you before doing something different to entirely different teeth to get your OK. Anyway on to your gorgeous card. Your friend will adore this as the colours are so soft and pretty, and I love the little added ice blue gems and that large one in the middle of the flower goes beautifully, and the curving of the sentiment for dimension looks great. The Cameo looks like a useful tool to have. x
Oh no--what a terrible experience! I don't like going to the dentist either, but count myself lucky nothing like that ever happened! Pat will LOVE this gorgeous card, Ros--one of my favorites! Sending big hugs, Greta
First I want to say what a beautiful card this is, she is sure to love it, sure is a pretty Cameo cut from your Silhouette. You needed to get together with my hubby lol, as Friday he had a BIG part of his jawbone removed and a wisdom tooth and the bone under that...ON the way home he was so loopy and glared at me and wrote a note that said
it's over' and I though he meant us lol...but he is doing better as I hope you are..what a story and not funny at all when it happened, sounds like a bad experience all the way around!!
What??? Nothing wrong with the top left? Could it have been radiating pain? You'll have to update us on how it's feeling now. I don't like going to the dentist, either. I have a horror story from a previous dentist (won't share it, but believe me, it was medieval). Switched dentists and he was so good and knew just where all the sensitive spots were... then he died. Well, that's enough about that. Your card is beautiful with the rich blue bling and yellow-green background. Love the inlay, and that bling again -- the center bling looks like it was designed specifically for this flower. The birthday girl will love it!
Love the colours on your blended background behind that fabulous cameo cut flower. The inlay in the silver grey looks fabulous. Pat is going to love it x Sorry to hear about your dentist trip...it's sounds horrific and then not to do the tooth you expected! x
Lovely, lovely card Ros...your friend will love it...bling and all!! And I need to schedule an appointment for a cleaning with my teeth too, but now after reading your story, I'm not so sure I want too!! Glad it's all over for you though!! :0)
Sorry about your trip to the dentist Ros, I'm with you on hating my trips :)
Beautiful card, I love those colours you chose behind your die cut. your friend will love the card.
Fabulous card very much enjoyed!
Speaking of dentist, haha... mine said he never had any patient like me, I would sit there and and tried to control myself as much as possible, but almost every single visit, I would tell him that "I had enough", so the session had to end regardless he is done or not, LOL!!!!
Sorry to hear about your dentist experience! My worst dentist experience was when I had first two wisdom teeth pulled under local. I really thought he was going to break my jaw, ha! For the other two wisdom teeth, I went to a different doctor and was put to sleep, which was much better! Your card is gorgeous for your friend! Love the pretty colors and bling!
Sorry about your horror Dentist story, Ros. So are the teeth she worked on freebies, since you had no idea she was going to work on them?
But...your story ended with you sharing your beautiful inlayed flower birthday card for your girlfriend. Thank you for sharing, Ros. Take care, my friend. Hugs
Oh Ros! If the same doctor told you the stuff on the left was what needed to be fixed I think I might consider changing dentists. A little hard to trust someone who changes their mind about something like that. Hope you don't have anymore trouble with either side. The card is wonderful. I always admire your inking.
Oh Ros, this is exquisite! love the colour and how you did the inlay. Of course the beautiful blue pearl and rhinestones finish this of wonderfully. And for your dental story, my goodness but I can relate. I've been almost upside down as well with the numb tongue and all, it's not a great experience. Since they didn't fix your top left tooth, I surely hope it doesn't cause you more pain and you have to go through this again! Again, thanks for sharing a beautiful card! sorry just getting caught up on my commenting. Was on vacation this week, and we spent it doing bathroom reno's! No card making this week. Back to work tomorrow, so hopefully life will get back to normal. Have a good week.
Sorry you had a bit of a rough time Ros, sounds like she discovered the left was ok so looked around for something to charge you for!..lol
Love the card your friend Pat is a lucky lady! the blending of the colours are stunning.
Hi Ros, firstly your card is just lovely, the in-lay with those lovely colour blend with the pewter outline, topped off with the gorgeous button, just fabulous. Now for the dentist... same boat here, not my favourite professional either - everything about your visit I can relate to - that sucker thing needs a licence to drive.. one minute you're about to gag with saliva, next its whooshed up along with your tongue and all along they're chattin' away about the weekend - how wide can one open one's mouth too. Last year I had a frontish tooth break off at the gum, so out it came and then all the rigmarole about fitting a tooth to a plate (for looks only, because there's no-way I can eat with the darn thing in) $$$$$$$ Anyway I definitely can sympathize with you and how did they ever decide to work on two other teeth, not the one giving problems or even anywhere near it, hope it stays that way.... Enjoy your week now it's over hugs Robyn
ps... I've just read all the comments and had a good old 'horrifying' laugh.. so many awkward moments with dentist and they get paid lots - Robyn
