Birthday Cards

Well hello...

It's almost a week since I last posted anything... The time just seems to whizz by!
I've been doing a lot of crocheting lately... Little gifts for Christmas - Slippers, cowl scarves and wrist warmers so not a lot of card making but I do have a couple of birthday cards to share that I never got around to posting

The chick with a whole lot of ink blended balloons

And a card with ink blended candles

They aren't actual candle dies ... I used a small rectangle die for the candles and I have number (candle) dies so I used the flames from them

The birthday printed BG is a very old digital from Hero Arts

I still have some Christmas cards that need photographing before I can share... I hope to get around to that soon...
We're still having pretty weird weather... We've had a lot of rain and high winds from storm Callum, but it's still very warm for this time of year.

Wishing you a good week and thanks for looking in on me

Till soon

~ Ros ~

Fab cards Ros....love your balloons and the way you have used the cut outs over the top.The candle card is very inventive and as always your cards look professional. I bit colder here today, yesterday fowl with lots of rain and still 'spitting' as we say today! Have a good week. x

Oh, gosh, love both! How to pick a favorite? Good thing I don't have to! Such wonderful, pretty colors. You know I love the crazy chicken, and all those balloons, both positive and negative. Great way to layer them, get more colors, and add depth. You made perfect candles with your skinny rectangle die. I really like the background stamp and sentiment die cut on that card. You always get it just right!

A week certainly does whizz by quick! I got to spend the week with crafty friends and didn't get a full card made! Wonderful cards, Ros! I love the layering of those colorful balloons and, of course, who can resist that wonderful chicken! So clever of you to use the rectangle dies for the candles and I love how the colors stand out among the grey.

What pretty dimensional balloons and using that prettily coloured fun chick, and then the candles made using a slim stitched rectangle die, and the added flames from another die set go perfectly. I love the shape of the frame and the Hero Arts background stamp is absolutely great. We were at a wedding in Essex on Saturday, and apart from the rather gusty wind the weather was really warm for the time of year, and although we could choose to be indoors much of the time, the weather meant we did in fact spend much of the afternoon outside. x

Wonderful cards, Ros! Love the balloons and the fun chicken on your first card, so colorful! Second card is very clever with the candles! Never thought of using rectangle dies, great idea! The recipients of these cards will be thrilled I’m sure! Weather here has turned quite chilly. We may even have a chance of frost tonight...brrr! Take care, hugs!

Both cards are fabulous. Cute sentiment for the balloon card and great blending candles and balloons.

So glad you are finding time to crochet x.Your first card is a real fun card Ros...That chicken is adorable. Love the vibrant colours and the way you used the die cut balloons to add dimension and also the recessed ones...If that makes sense? Absolutely love it x.
What a creative idea to use a mini rectangle die for the pretty row of candles. Love the layout and the 'Lets celebrate' die frames your card beautifully x.
Thank you for sharing these two wonderful and fabulous cards x.

Hope you'll show some pictures of the crochet projects. I love your birthday cards, Ros--especially the balloons! Wonderful use of the negative spaces!

Is there anything left to say about this chick?! It's hilarious, whatever you do with it! Love both cards, though, they are both truly happy in their own ways.

I just love this card. I love the colors and the whimsey and the dimension. The stitching on the balloons, where is this from. Thanks for sharing your card.
