CAS Watercolour Challenge

Good morning...
Two posts in two days? Well I had time to play yesterday so I made a few cards, One of which is for

Marcia is hosting this month's challenge and she has chosen Red & Pink for the month of 'love'

If you follow my blog you'll see that I hardly ever use pink, I like using red for flowers but I'm not good with pink for some reason, but... I had a go

I stamped a poppy onto ordinary cardstock and embossed it with a mix of silver and gold embossing powder - The stamp is an old one by Altenew and really doesn't have many lines to it...

So I painted it with Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries DI in an attempt to 'define' the poppy... Not sure if I succeeded that well...
I used a rectangle die to cut around the image first, then turned it to get a diagonal shape on the bottom part. The sentiment is part of a set of 4 dies I picked up at The Works a while ago and after cutting it I covered it with Versamark ink and then embossed it too.
So there... I've tried pink Lol!

Enjoy your day and I'll be back soon

Ros, you do amazing work with EVERY colour! This is so beautiful. I love how you've heat embossed the outline and then defined it with red that blends softly into the pink. Great design! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx

A beautiful card and such a great idea to define the out edge of the poppy with the added red ink, and the pink looks so pretty. I love the way you have cut the rectangular die into that interesting shape too. x

Beautiful Ros! You did a fabulous job on colouring this pink poppy! Love how you embossed the 'love' arrow to correspond with the embossing of the poppy. Your layouts are also so unique - love it!

Wow! What you did with this stamp is a real world championship. This card is my favorite for the main prize CAS Watercolour. A great approach to the theme of stami and watercolor. I need to try something similar. Thanks for the inspiration.

You're too hard on yourself! I think this is lovely. Great use of the red to outline the flower and help it stand out, and a fabulous layout. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Watercolour.

Yeah, it's really a shame that this card is such a fail, Ros. NOT!! It's a brilliant design with the diagonal movement and I love the unique arty look you achieved for the poppy!! Hugs, Darnell CASWC GD
