Hello and welcome...
I'm thrilled to be guesting over at the CAS Watercolour Challenge this month where the challenge this time is to watercolour on vellum
Up on the blog there are some video links to help and inspire you along with wonderful cards created by the team.
Here's what I did
I stamped and heat embossed my leaves first and then used distress inks to paint them and even added some splatters
It's not as difficult as you may think, in fact I found it very therapeutic to do. Yes, the vellum can curl when it gets wet but you can use this to your advantage
... Like I did here - I stamped, painted and fussy cut one leaf and I love the curl on this and the clean fresh look that the vellum offers.
I hope you'll take a minute to check out the cards from the team and maybe give this a go
Thanks so much to the team for having me this month and thanks to you for popping in
Enjoy your day!

Oh, I love your curled leaf, Ros! You certainly did use it to your advantage! All your leaves are springy and beautiful! Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this month!
Beautiful Ros, love your arrow sentiment cutting across the velum and your great layout.
Oooh, I like it! Your stamps and colors are very pretty. I do believe you have the best stamps. Love the sentiment die cut, too. Never would have thought to try watercolor on vellum, but it looks fantastic!
Beautiful card, the colors and the curl are amazing.
I love the way that you have used the fact that the vellum curls when wet to your advantage Ros. The design of your card is unique and so very striking. Love the delicacy of the vellum and the pretty colours. Beautiful card Ros x.
I clicked to enlarge this design, Ros. It's very unique and fresh and I love the overlay of the card on half the beautifully colored vellum, anchored by the arrow! I agree, the leaf you fussy-cut looks real because it's curled a little! Congratulations on guest designing! Hugs, Darnell
I love the greens and blues. Great dimension on the leaf. It draws your eye right in. Congratulations on being guest designer and this great card.

This is a very pretty card Ros and I love the way you have used the vellum for the beautiful coloured leaves, and your 'thank you' arrow works well to bring together your two stitched triangles, and love the bit of spattering to finish too. Congratulations on being one of the Guest Designers this time. x

Congrats on being the GD, Ros! I love the look of your leaves & the curling is perfect! Don't think I've ever watercolored on vellum--usually I just use markers, but haven't even done that in ages. Maybe I'll use that technique for some Easter cards.
Brilliant card Ros, love the layout and you gorgeous colours on the vellum
