Blue and Yellow

Well here we are at the end of April...
My, that month went so very quickly but here's hoping that May will bring warm drier weather
My lilac tree is laden this year and so beautiful but the heavy rains left it looking like a weeping willow!

I've been making a few cards using up all the background pieces I have, some printed, some painted and some ink blended... Today's card uses scraps of ink blended pieces that I stamped flowers on

The circular loom is a die I've had for ever and I don't think I've used it before... I cut it from a piece of printed card and inlaid it back into the card by using acetate behind

The flower stamp is a set I picked up at The Works for £1 - I think they are so pretty and stamp really well but as there are no dies to go with them, I had to fussy cut them

I'll share some more soon...

I also wanted to that the teams at CAS Watercolour and CAS Stencil for the Outstanding design awards  this month... I don't enter many challenges but I do love the CAS ones.

My blog friend Pat also alerted me to a challenge over at
Pixie's Crafty Workshop
Where the challenge is to use up your bits or snippets so I'm going to enter this card there too.
Have a wonderful day/ evening

What a pretty card Ros, you are so clever at using up your scraps and I love the yellow and blue flowers, and the loom die with the acetate behind shows them off perfectly. I don't know if you have seen a challenge called Pixie's Crafty Workshop run by the lovely Di but the entries for that are any project which uses scraps or 'snippets' and your recent makes would fit it beautifully, and there is always a great prize to be had too and a new challenge has just started. Lastly congratulations on your two shout outs over at CAS Watercolour and CAS Stencil. I thought those beautiful cards would do well! x

Hooray for a first time use of that die! So cool how you inlaid it with the acetate. You think of the most creative things! You did a perfectly nice job of cutting out those flowers. We do get to where we love our dies, don't we? Recently I decided to get the matching dies more often. I do a lot of fussy cutting and I could save myself a lot of time and trouble. Congrats on your Outstanding Design awards! You do the most beautiful CAS cards!

Gorgeous card Ros with those gorgeous flowers, no dies, well you fussy cut them perfectly!! I am jealous your lilacs are blooming, my are/were slightly budded, I haven't checked them since it snowed on them on Sunday, sacred too. I purchased two new lilac bushes to plant, hopefully on Mother's day, one is a yellow one which I have never seen before. Have a wonderfully creative day my friend!!

Unusual & beautiful, Ros! The inky pieces were perfect for these flowers! Good for you fussy cutting. I'm clearly spoiled by dies as I can't remember the last time I did that! No surprise you continue to win those challenges--congrats!

What a great idea to inlay the die with the acetate! The flowers look so pretty and I love how you highlighted the stamens. I was sorry to hear the weather wasn't great for your holiday - fingers crossed we'll get something better over the Banh Holiday weekend.

Hi Ros! A huge welcome to the Snippets Playground! And with such a gorgeous card too! Love your flowers - a real bargain (don't we all love The Works!) and such a clever idea using acetate with the wonderful loom die cut aperture!

So glad you came to play, I've spotted your name in Blogland on many an occasion - please come back and play with us again! Oh, and if you're playing for the prize I always ask folk to say so in a comment. It helps when some may play for fun for me to have a positive yes. I think you maybe already did that anyhow?

Hugs

Another amazing creation made from your scraps and snippets. You've really made that your mission! Hope the weather has improved - we even had snow here at the begining of May!
