CAS Stencil Challenge

Hello...

What a beautiful day it is here... Sunshine and blue skies
Hubby is golfing and I'm doing housework.. As if!

I got around to finishing a card for the CAS Stencil Challenge

I had a leftover piece from a card I made Here
A distress inked background, splattered with water then stenciled over using translucent paste... I didn't want to waste that piece but I wanted it to look different from the original so I inked over the dry stenciling with Blueprint Sketch distress ink and this completely changed it.

I love the result, the way the colours altered... Much more vibrant than the original

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the dragonfly and adhered it to the die cut reeds and there we are done!

Just before I go, my blog friend Sue Lelli asked me to share a photo of my Lilac in bloom so here it is

Have a great day and I'll catch up with you soon

Stunning card Ros, wow...the stenciling is amazing!! Your lilacs are gorgeous and I can smell them here (I wish lol)...mine took a hit with the last snow/frost a few weeks back and so sad that I have very little blooms and they were loaded before that...sigh!! We are to have great weather finally starting this afternoon and we have SUN...finally!!

Such a lovely card, Ros! Wonderful background in pretty colors! Love the colorful dragonfly, also! And, your lilacs are gorgeous! We planted one a few years ago, so we'll have to wait to get big blooms as pretty as yours.

Have mercy, that's one of the most gorgeous lilacs ever! Nice and full, large blooms and lots of them. Pretty color, too! Now... your card just blew me away with its fabulous wavy background, the reedy die cut, and the dragonfly. You have the best dies and stamps! It's so beautiful! I had a peek at your other card, and I really love the look of that background, too. Doesn't matter, I just love everything you make!

OK--that does it! I'm getting a passport & I'll be there for lilac season next year--haha! My poor bush had one blossom this year--but it was gorgeous. I don't have pink & yours may be the most beautiful I've seen! Totally amazing how you changed your left over piece & I do love the card you made with it! Always so creative, my dear friend--love seeing what you make!

I looked at my stencils today. I wish I'd looked at this post first 'cause then I may have been inspired to use them! I love these effects.

Fabulous stenciled background, Ros! I love the way you changed the look from the original. It's amazing to see how much the look has changed by inking over the stencil with Blueprint Sketch. The die-cut reeds and the sweet dragonfly look wonderful with the background.

p.s. Your lilacs are stunning. Lilac is my favorite color!
