CAS Watercolour Challenge and A New Baby

Hello... I hope you are all well?

I'm popping in with a card for this month's challenge over at CAS Watercolour

Actually I was going through my cupboards to see what sprays I had to make a card for the CAS Stencil challenge when I came across a few pots of Inklingz shimmer paints... I'd totally forgotten I had them and wasn't sure if they were still usable so I got some water and a paintbrush and tried them on a scrap of card. Well they worked, so I used the painted piece to make butterflies for my card

I stamped and embossed a bunch of butterflies and fussy cut them, minus the antennae, which I die cut and added on top.
The paints have a lovely sheen which of course as you all know is very hard to photograph even when turned towards the light

The card is going to my chiropractor who sadly for me is returning to her native Norway shortly.
There's something special about her... You know sometimes when you meet someone, it's more a feeling than anything, but you just know they have something about them that makes them special? Anyway, I crocheted a cowl scarf and some finger-less gloves to give her - It gets pretty cold in Norway come the winter - and they are in soft multi-colours like these butterflies which is a bonus considering I hadn't planned to do a watercolour card today

I was going to just stamp 'Be Happy' on the card, I got the stamp out then it just disappeared! I searched everywhere but I couldn't find it at all... A mystery. So, "just a note" it is.

It's been another busy week in the Crawford household. We popped over to see hubby's new Grandson on Sunday... Meet Owen (meeting Grandpa)

Heck, I'd forgotten how tiny new babies are and we were both terrified of holding him, and they wriggle! Lol!
We've also taken advantage of the weather and had all the flagging and brick paving cleaned in the rear garden. Would you believe the council came yesterday to renew the tarmac pavements in the road too, but it was raining heavily so whilst it all looks fresh and new... there are quite a lot of bumps and dips... Still I guess we shouldn't complain.

Well, I'm going to love you and leave you for now
Take care

~ Ros ~

How pretty Ros and you can definitel see that gorgeous shimmer on the butterflies and I love the die cut lattice type die cut over which they are sitting. What a great photo of your hubby's new sweet little grandson and he is gazing at him very intently, so cute!. Our son was born prematurely about six weeks early and he only weighed 4lbs 1oz so he was really tiny but luckily they are always much tougher than they look. He's certainly grown a bit now as he is 41 and about six foot tall...lol. x

I love the soft colors of these butterflies, Ros! I can see a bit of the shimmer in the photos but I know they are extra gorgeous IRL! I'm sure your friend will love the card and the scarf and gloves. Sweet, sweet baby. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

Beautiful CAS layout Ros, love the stick die cut background and those gorgeous butterflies. My shelves and cupboards are full of stuff that hasn't been used in eons :)
And what a cutie, congrats on the new addition to the family.

Lovely, lovely card Ros, and I can see the shimmer in those colorful butterflies! Love the simple background so the butterflies take center stage, and even though the sentiment wasn't the one you wanted (I've had stamps go missing like that too...grrrr!) it worked perfectly with this card. And isn't Owen just a sweetie sitting on your hubby's lap?! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour Ros! Hugs. :0)

Congratulations to the family on the new little Owen addition! I swear I have that exact photo, only its of our Dan looking up just like that at Kevin's father. It's one of our most treasured photos! And, now, my friend, were you blessed by a visit from Serena Dipity, or what?! I love that she lead you by the nose to a product and then a try and then a die cut and then, bam, to a gorgeous creation like this with brilliant butterflies that shimmer and shine AND THEN, it turns out they match your gift! C'mon! That's the BEST!! Hugs, Darnell

Congrats on the new baby. I do love the card- I think I can see the shimmer and I like how you used the grid thingy as a background - makes butterflies a little less girly and a lot more modern.

Sweet new baby in the family! Congrats!

Love your card - the use of the black die cut behind the butterflies is fabulous - it really ties them to the card. And the colours in the butterflies are gorgeous. Thanks so much for making a card for CAS Watercolour!

Your card is so STRIKING, Ros. Something about the black frames on the white and then the soft colours of your butterflies. AMAZING!! Bonus that the colours match the scarf you make for your Chiropractor. I know what you mean about meeting someone and knowing there is something special about them. You will miss her. She will love your sweet gift to keep her warm. :) And we love that you shared your card with us at CAS Watercolour! Owen is adorable. Gramdpa looks pretty happy holding him. :) xx

CONGRATS on your well-deserved win at CAS Watercolor, Ros! Your butterflies are absolutely gorgeous...I love how the colors blended and I'll bet they're really shimmery in person! LOVE your frame in the background, too...is there any chance you could tell me the brand or where you purchased it? I would really appreciate it :)

Lovely butterflies - and adorable little Owen! Love your comment about how small they are, so seemingly fragile. But it seems the little guy enjoyed the first meeting very much!
