Birthday Boy

Hello! How are you?

Yesterday was DH's birthday and I'd arranged a special lunch for us in the city. The weather was cold but sunny and Mikey was ready to take us to the train station... However, DH was not feeling well so I had to cancel our plans. Unfortunately the restaurant required a 24 hr notice in order to give a refund and they were not willing to reschedule so that was that.
At least he's feeling better today and is up and about.
I thought I'd share the card I made for him

The tree die was a gift from my blog friend Loll and I used a piece of AI background to create a scenic look with mountains and maybe a little lake in little lower triangle .. That piece just seemed to pull it all together

I cut the 'birthday' word twice, once in black to offset the AI one and give it some shadow
He was really pleased with it, though it seemed he was more overjoyed with one he was emailed from the football club he supports

Yep, this one had him smiling from ear to ear Lol! I'm going to print it and frame it for him.

I'm off to catch up on your blogs and see hat I've missed - Have a lovely day

Happy Birthday to your hubby Ros and how sad that he was not feeling well enough for the lunch you had booked, and as Carole has remarked how awful that the restaurant were not even willing to let you go another day. I love your AI inked pieces you have used and a definite hill and lake scene can be see, and love the white trees and a nice large die cut sentiment using more of the beautiful AI piece, a gorgeous card, and at least not being able to have his nice lunch he did get a smile from the Everton e-card. Not being a football fan I definitely think yours has the edge..lol. x

You've made a beautiful card for your husband Ros. I love the combination of dies with your colored cardstock. The shadow behind the word makes the card even more beautiful.
Greetings Miranda

stunning card Ros, the perfect colour combo and love your AI hill and perfect balance of your layout.

Some people havee so business and money focused they loose the fact that you might have spent more money and encouraged other people to go to the restaurant with a good review.

A fabulous birthday card for your husband! I'm sorry he was not feeling well to celebrate his day, but glad his is feeling better today! Love your unique style for your card today, the AI background mountains and little lake are just beautiful. Love that you offset the AI birthday from the black, it just gives it that little something. Love this Ros. Have a great weekend. Keep safe and warm!

Another one of your absolutely gorgeous cards, Ros! A splash of color on white -- love that! Way cool how you did the mountains and lake. This is truly fabulous! Sorry you had to cancel your lunch and not get a refund. I don't doubt your hubby was thrilled with his card from the football guys. That was super nice of them!

So sorry the BD celebration had to be cancelled. Too bad I wasn't close enough to take his place--haha! Hubby's son in law ended up in our town on business & took us to dinner, so that was a nice BD surprise. Must say--you have such a way with trees & AI backgrounds, Ros! Amazingly creative & beautiful card--even if it is second fiddle to the one from the team--haha! You're a sweet wife to frame that one for him!
PS--thanks for letting me know about CAS Mix Up. Had entered the max # for one of the challenges, but now that the winner wasn't me I entered at Mix Up.

WOW what an amazing creation and the colors really POP! You are SO creative with your designs ... I always draw inspiration from you! Sorry the birthday boy wasn't up to going out and how sad the restaurant wouldn't give you a refund ... good grief, these things happen!! Anyways, glad he's feeling a little better and how sweet of the football guys to think of him too with an awesome card! Hugs and Happy Days ahead!!

Oh no! I've never heard of a restaurant that one must prepay! Glad to hear your husband is feeling better, though!
Ros, this is a spectacular card - before you even described it, I saw the mountains, hillsides, and yes the water!
LOve those little trees... think you'd share whose dies those are?
xx

Well, I have to say I am much more impressed with your card than the football club's - lol! I love the AI hills/lake design with those wonderful white trees! Sorry to hear about the reservations, that's pretty crummy that you couldn't reschedule. I've never heard of that sort of reservation system! Glad to hear your husband is feeling better now.

I'm so sorry your hubby was feeling ill on his birthday. Not a good way to celebrate the day. Your card is fantastic (and I think much nicer than the other). The AI background makes me want to go get mine out and drip and drizzle! Yours always come out beautifully! Hope everyone is feeling fine today. Happy Valentine's Day!

Sorry to hear that your husband had to cancel the birthday dinner plans, but happy to hear that he is feeling better! Your birthday card for him is so beautiful! Love those die cut trees and the gorgeous AI background! And, how fun for your husband to receive a birthday greeting from the football team! It certainly would be frame worthy!!:)

I am sorry you couldn't go out for lunch and how mean of the restaurant not to reschedule for you. What an eye catching card you made for Ian and I love how the little scene came together x. What a fantastic surprise from Everton football club and no wonder he was thrilled with it x.

This card is stunning, there's no better way of putting it. He may have smiled when he got the Everton one, but this one must have touhed his heart big time. Sorry to hear, though, that he wasn't feeling well - and how really unpleasant a reaction from the restaurant... they know how to make regulars, don't they?
