A Piece of the Garden

Hello...
I'm lost with the days... One just flows into another and the clocks going forward only added to the confusion Lol!
The warm sunshine we were experiencing quickly developed in to dull and cold weather.
Someone asked me if I was bored yet... Me bored???
In truth I think I've been social isolating for years. DH was always either working or out somewhere with someone so I got used to being alone and found lots to occupy myself with... Boredom to me is doing the same things without progression... I like to learn, try new things.

As you know I've been trying free hand painting with watercolours lately and the one I'm sharing today has to be my very favourite and IS going to be framed

I did do a little sketching first, just to get the pots as a starting point - I seem to have a 'thing' about plant pots

My friend Stella bought me my first set of Prima paints and once I started to use them I was sold

I do use a little bit of acrylic paint for the white dots you often see, and here, for the purple berries.
Unfortunately my garden pots are not as pretty but small shoots are starting to appear, maybe by time we are out of isolation there will be flowers too. Till then I'll create my own and continue to pop into your blogs and enjoy the beauties you share

Have a good day and take care

These potted plants are gorgeous Ros and you definitely need to frame this beauty, though I think they are all fabulous and would all look great in frames. x

Once the kids grew up and left the nest and DH was still working all the time, I found ways to love the isolation. I love my time with friends and family too, but I can fill my days with things that interest me. I'll be surprised if I get bored with all the fun stuff in my studio! I like to read too and can kill a whole day with a good book.

You have another masterpiece, my friend! Your art is a bright spot on a cloudy day! Keep 'em comin'! xoxo

Another beauty and very different from your other watercolors, Ros. I Love your pots and love how you add doodling to add texture and dimension to your paintings. Your pots look so real. We (my DH and I) love pots too and have many in our gardens. My favorites are in our rock garden that add more color, texture and flowers. I love your earth tones from the pots and succulents along with the brighter colored flowers. Your posts have brightened my days, my friend. No problem with us keeping busy either:-)
TFS..Love and Hugs...Nancy

Oh, my word, I'm so glad you're framing this one! It's beautiful! I have a thing for flower pots, too, probably because I love to plant them up at home. I hope I'll be able to do some in April if it's not too cold. I'm never bored at home, either. In fact, I still never have enough hours in the day. I hope you continue to weather the isolation. Just keep doing what you do!

so happy to hear you are framing this one, it is so gorgeous! I have been enjoying all your gorgeous hand painted cards, each and every one! I (luckily) love to be home and there certainly is a lot to do here since this house is OLD, actually older then me, which is OLD lol! I feel so blessed to have my 'craft' to keep me busy all year and my flowers in the Spring/Summer months. My hubs on the other hand LOVES to socialize so it is bothering him a bit, but he does have lots to do too, so all is good. We are just hoping and praying that this thing will pass, about all we can do! Stay safe my friend and am looking forward to your next creation!!

Painting is your thing, my friend! This is wonderful & so glad you're framing it! I have a couple Prima sets that really need to be used! My days are really about the same, but not my mind! What a world we're now living in.
