Purple or Blue?

Hello...
What a beautiful sunny day we have here.. It's cold but that's okay, we have much to be thankful for and I'm especially thankful for our crafting community.
One thing I love is how diverse it is in our creations, some like brights, some like muted and so on...

Today I have 2 more hand painted cards to share - I wonder which one you prefer?

DH prefers these purple flowers and I think I do too

I've discovered that whilst painting on plain cardstock it is possible to add more colour once the first layer has dried

..And though it doesn't look like much at first, using a Copic liner to add some little details makes all the difference
But you may prefer the blue...

A more 'wishy washy' creation
Sometimes colours don't always translate on photos... The leaves etc., are much greener IRL
Either way painting is keeping me happy and I'm trying something I never thought I could do... Maybe without this pandemic I just wouldn't have had the time or the inclination.
Be safe my friends and have fun doing what makes you happy

Two more gorgeous flower cards Ros and such a pretty look with the designs and the colours, two of my favourites, and I love the bit of added pen detail over the top and framed beautifully with the dry embossed frames. I don't know what machine you use but since I have had my Gemini I don't seem to be able to get the sandwich right for embossing with a die rather than die cutting. It is either not thick enough and does nothing or on one or two occasions making the sandwich thicker has bent the dies slightly, and obviously I am worried about permanently damaging them. x

Absolutely stunning cards Ros! So hard to pick my favourite, but I'm partial to purple so going to go with that. I agree, the fine lines on the flowers really add to the overall finish! I'm swooning here Ros, you are one talented lady! Be safe, Hugs,

Both are breathtaking and stunning Ros!! I love the purple but I also love the blue, so soft and dreamy, you have quite a talent!! Hubby and I made our last trip out to the post office to get stamps so we can get our bills paid lol...and to the feed store and bought another months supply of kitties food and dog food and now are staying in. I so hope it warms up so we can work outside, that will help. Take care my friend and be safe!!

Wow, both cards are so elegant and stunning, Ros! And you hand painted these?? So amazing! I love both cards, but if I have to choose, I would vote for the purple one, just because that's my favorite color. Your framing is subtle, that enhances the beauty of the flowers.

I love what you are doing...trying your own hand-painted designs! I like the purple best, but it might be layout I prefer. The composition of the purple flowers appeal to me; I like the white space framing it! I would be so pleased if I could create something this beautiful! You go girl!...Good for you!♥

Two gorgeous watercolored cards, Ros. Where did you learn your W/C technique? Is there a video out there? I think your cards are equally beautiful, just a bit different. TFS and please stay safe and continue sharing your beauties:-) Love and Hugs..Nancy

When I read purple or blue, I immediately thought purple, as I'm not terribly keen on blue flowers. However, as I scrolled down to see the blue, I have to say I love them both! Then I scrolled down further to see all the posts I missed and I found all your amazing flowers - my jaw dropped! How gorgeous, Ros!

How can I tell you my favorite when I'm utterly speechless? Okay... wait... I'll get it together. Hmmmm... at first I was partial to the purple, but then the more I looked, the more I loved the blue, so I'm saying that's my favorite. It's all washy, and I love how the hangy down greenery thingies are more prominent on this one. They're both incredibly gorgeous and I'm totally in awe!

Well, I have to say when it comes to the flowers themselves, I go with the purple ones, too, but overall I prefer the blue one as I love the little splashes you have on those!

Your talent is amazing, Ros! I love all your paintings--including both of these! I do think I like the blue one best with the buds, splatters & scallops!
