Two Little Birds

Hello friends...How are you all? Well I hope.

I haven't had any inclination to craft lately, perhaps it's the weather - We've had non stop rain for more than a week and life is so much better when I can spend some time in the garden albeit it that it's starting to look like a jungle.

Still, I have lots of paintings that I've never got around to sharing including these little birds.  Actually this one's a plump little guy

They're not supposed to be any particular bird... I just make them up and choose whatever colour takes my fancy

They will no doubt end up in my lockdown album which has also been abandoned lately...

The trims on both cards are from my stash, I've ribbons and buttons and all manner of things that never get used. I did have a purge but kept some "just in case" as you do.

My friends were thrilled with their little coffee cup cards by the way, oh and I was thrilled to see an old photo this week... My friend in New Jersey must have had this one and her daughter posted it on F/B.

Obviously it was taken more than 50 years ago... She's at the back and I'm on the right... The little boy and baby are her cousins. It took me back and gave me a warm feeling of the happy times we spent together and how different the world was then.

Okay so that's it for today...
Stay well, be happy and I'll catch up with you soon

Loving your plump birdies in their soft and pretty colors. We need rain here badly, very, very dry and very very hot! I love old photos from earlier times where as you said things seemed much easier. That is a great photo, I am glad it brought so much joy! Take care my friend!!

You are so talented at this Ros and your two sweet birds look very happy on your pretty branches. I have had a go and my first effort was OK but did another last night with a wet in wet technique but it worked out a bit dark and heavy, yours are always so fresh and fun too. x

Also really loving the photo from back when...it definitely made me smile and remember happy childhood times of my own! Take care my friend! Hugs. :0)

I am swooning over those sweet birds, Ros! I love the colors and how you've nestled them on the floral sprays! How fun to see a photo of you from way back when! It looks like happy times! I hope your weather clears up soon to give you time to be out in your garden!

Oh my goodness Ros, I absolutely love your birds!!! Love how fluffy and plumb they are, so sweet, and love the colours, especially the first one, wow!! There is no end to your talent miss Ros!! Every card is so unique. I'm sorry you have not been yourself, yes weather always seems to play a part in it. We have had no rain here in a couple of weeks, just dry, hot and humid weather feeling like 40C, and it looks like it continues for another couple of weeks, just a chance of rain here and there which usually means nothing! What a wonderful photo, so great to look back and smile about the happy times. Take care Ros, I hope the weather changes for you, to lift your spirits some! Hugs,

Wow--such a darling picture of you & your friend as kids! Wonderful to have happy memories--always good for us, but especially now, I think. The little birds are so sweet & I love that you make them up! Sending hugs to you, my sweet friend!

Ros, this is just how our birds look after a play in the bird bath! perhaps yours had had a shower in the rain?
Both adorable - as are you and your friend in the photo! I'm imagining all sorts of situations: were you in NJ? was she in England? Were you friends in England before she moved to NJ? All scenarios are fun to imagine!

Oh my ... these birds are both so sweet! Beautifully done my friend! WOW sounds like our weather patterns are at opposite ends. It's very hot, humid and DRY here. My poor yard is drying out to the point of it being more brown now vs green. Love seeing old photos ... what sweet memories for you both and yes, it was certainly a 'different time'. Praying you stay safe and healthy! HUGS from OHIO, USA

Love your puffed up birds and the beautiful flower and greenery sprays for their perches. Adding your fiber ribbons really was a wonderful touch too. Thank you so much for sharing your watercolored cards and your adorable photo of you and your friends...so sweet. Wish our world had not changed so much, but at least we still have our wonderful creative, loving and sharing paper crafting world:-) Love and Hugs..Nancy

What cute birds and I can totally relate to the plump little guy, with lockdown x. I think it's great that they are not any particular birds, which gives you the artist freedom to colour them as you wish. Both cards are fabulous and super cute Ros x.
Thank you for sharing the memorable photo Ros x.

Your little birds are so incredibly cute! I wouldn't be surprised if there are birds just like them somewhere. It's always more fun to paint them any old which way. These are the prettiest little birds ever and I love the foliage and flowers and the trim you used on the cards. It's so fun to see the old pic, too! I can totally see the current Ros in the very young Ros. Times were different then, for sure.

I love old pictures like that and how very special for you to be in it! And your birdies are beauties, too - especially the one with the aqua colored plumage is too cute!
