Hey there...
It's been over a week since I posted, I've not been idle, just other things getting in the way.
We lost sadly one of our Cornish cousins last week... As you can imagine there were lots of phone calls back and forth, his sister just couldn't cope and I spent a long time trying to calm her.
Anyway I did make 3 sympathy cards but forgot to photograph them (duh) so I can't share. I also had some birthday cards to send and the one I am sharing today is for a family member. It's another kitty one and I'm entering it at
Where my friend Darnell is guesting. I hope it's suitable - They don't mention hand drawn and painted flowers but I guess so
This kitty is watching the butterfly and though you can't see it I added sparkle to the flowers with a gel pen
I also have a card for the challenge at CAS Mix Up
There will be no beach holiday for us this year so I took my imagination somewhere calm and quiet... I'm totally fine with solitude
This is my first attempt at painting a palm tree and I didn't sketch anything first, I just went with it
I did use a little acrylic (white) for the sea foam and the sentiment is a digital one. This is where I'd like to be right now...
I hope you are all keeping well and safe... Thanks so much for popping in

Wow, your cards are amazing. I thought those pretty flowers are beautiful. Your beach scene is lovely also. TFS
Sorry about the sad news Ros and glad you managed to help out x.
Both of your cards are wonderful and your free-hand drawing/painting skills are marvellous Ros x. An adorable kitty birthday card and a perfect calm seen on the second and well done you with the palm tree x. Fabulous....Both of them x. Stay safe and well too x.
Your art must be bringing you so much comfort and joy right now especially, Ros. I just love your paintings, which BTW bring me joy and comfort! Your floral spray is breathtaking! The whole scene with the kitty is divine. And your bright beach painting, wow! You've captured the colors of a secret cove and, oh, would you look at the time! I must dash if I want to catch my flight and meet you there!! Thank you for adding schparkle to The Flower Challenge! Darnell GD
Sorry to hear your news Ros. Terrible time to be coping with things like this.
Two lovely cards as ever, kitty is so damn cute!
Love the beach scene - could have done with that cool sea today - too hot for me! x
I'd like to be at that calm and serene beach with you Ros! Although it's getting a bit crowded right now! Your kitty is delightful and she must be admiring the flowers as well as the butterfly! Two more awesome original creations! Sorry for the death in your family. Covid complicates everything doesn't it!
Oops. Forgot to say thanks for sharing your beach scene with us at CAS Mix Up!
Sounds like it was a rough week for you my friend, but I'm glad you find peace in the painting!! Both of your cards are FABULOUS as always!! That plump little kitty gazing up at the flowers and butterfly is just too precious! And if it weren't for Covid I'd join you on that perfect little stretch of beach and soak up the sun and gentle breezes! Lovely, lovely cards Ros!! Hugs. :0)
Sorry to hear you have lost one of your cousins in Cornwall Ros, a sad time, and painting must take you away from it all for a bit. I love your pretty shaped stitched mat with the flowers and sweet little cat on it, and the palm tree in front of that azure blue sea with the lovely green hills is so tranquil and beautiful and with the perfect sentiment too. Two fantastic cards! x
Sorry for your loss, Ros. I mailed a sympathy card to a neighbor & need to make another one for a family I've known since I was a kid. Love the design of your BD card & your painted foliage is so beautiful! Clearly you didn't need to sketch first as your palm tree is perfect! Good to imagine being in a beautiful, peaceful place!
Both of your cards are gorgeous but I must admit I really love the one with the cat - absolutely one of the best cards I have ever seen. You have a marvelous style!
Sandy xx
Both cards are stunning Ros, of course I am partial to the kitty and the florals, but that beach scene is so peaceful looking...no palm trees here though, but not complaining, if I have to stay home what better place then the beach!! Sorry to hear about your loss , I think this year has been so trying on us all!! Take care my friend!!
So sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin, Ros. Because of the pandemic, any family tragedies are made even worse. Your sweet cat watching the butterfly in the beautiful flowers is such a wonderful hand painted card. Your hand painted beach scene and palm tree turned out beautifully too. You are so talented, my friend. Take care and stay creative. So pleased you added your beach scene card to our CAS Mix Up Watercolour Challenge. Love and Hugs...Nancy
Always thrilled to see you hand-painted cards Ros. I LOVE that sweet Kittie with the red blooms. So pretty!! And great work with your beach scene. Your palm tree if fantastic, along with the rest of your beautiful beach landscape! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
Sorry for your loss, Ros! Your first card is so pretty with the flowers and sweet cat! And, last card makes me want to dream of a beach vacation! Feeling the sea breeze and dream away with no worries...oh well...maybe next year! Take care and have a good rest of the week!!
Oh, Ros, a person could stamp all day and never make anything as beautiful as these cards. Of course your flowers and kitty will be welcome at The Flower Challenge! So sweet and beautifully done. I'm 100% okay with solitude, too, and your beach is the perfect place for it. You've got the palm tree down pat! I'm so sorry you had a death in the family, and my heart goes out to your cousin's sister (also your cousin?). Take care.
Wow Ros, your water colouring is so beautiful! I'd love to be at a beach like that! So happy to see your card in the gallery:)
Ros, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin. Please know I'm thinking of you and family during this difficult time. Your cards are beautiful my friend! Your first card is so sweet with the kitty watching the butterfly, and the gorgeous floral spray. I am totally fine with solitude as well. Your imagination did very well with creating this scene, and your palm tree is fabulous! Have a good week Ros, hugs,
Lending a caring ear is so generous and loving. Thank goodness you were there.
Your hand drawing is impressive. Some stamp designing would be so appropriate for you. Your kitty card is soft and dreamy.
As for the beach scene, I just want to go and contemplate there.
These times are difficult and we are all on a learning curve with coping in these restrictive ways of dealing with normal life. I do understand. So sorry for your loss, Take care xx
The cat card is absolutely adorable - and your first try at a palm tree turned out beautifully! Though I have to say that I'm not even drawn to any faraway places this year.
Sorry to hear about the cousin you have lost. It is such a difficult time for people to have their Good-byes, be it in hospitals or at funerals, and I hope that didn't make it even harder for your relatives.
The kittie and red flowers really brought a smile. Thank you for brightening my day.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your cousin, Ros.
With this pandemic, I don't think I can visit Tokyo to attend my dad's 3rd memorial anniversary this winter, so I understand your situation.
Both cards are fantastic! Love your free hand watercoloring! You did a wonderful job of painting the palm tree without sketching. Great perspective!
Hideko xx
Wow Ros, your painting is incredible!! Your cat is so sweet and I'm in love with your flowers, wish I could have something like that in a stamp. The detail around the die is fantastic and loving all that crisp, white background. Your beach card looks like a postcard and well done for your first palm attempt, looks to me like you've been painting them for years! I'm so very happy you shared your card with us at The Flower Challenge!!!
EVERYONE of your cards is a work of ART! LOVE the kitty one and the water and palm tree and mountains reminds me of St. Lucia!
