Lanterns

Hello there friends, I hope this finds you well...

Autumn is creeping in and just like the little hedgehogs, I'm feeling the need to hibernate. I actually got to go to my exercise class this past week - They had closed during the lockdown and on Monday they were allowed to open once again with strict Covid precautions in place. OMG I am still aching...I'm not sure what scares me the most, the pandemic or an hour of class, my co-ordination is totally shot!

I have a couple of cards to share, more of the oriental type

There's the little hedgehog on his way to hibernation... I painted the tree and the lanterns, used distress inks for the mountains and drew a few birds and stones for the ground

This one uses up a circle die I had spare

I don't know why I chose to do lanterns, sometimes things just come into my head

I must confess that these past few days nothing has come into my head... I came across some digital jigsaws whilst on Pinterest and suddenly I was hooked. Oh well...

I'm off to get lunch now so I'll wish you all a lovely weekend

Stay safe

Hedgie is so cute but the second one gets my vote! red, gold and black are a winning combination for me Ros and these cards are gorgeous. Loving the die on the second one too. x

Oh my goodness Ros, these are both exquisite! Love both, your first card is so tranquil, such depth you have created in this scene and love the little hedgehog, and the splash of red! Wowza!! and your second card is just as lovely, your whole design is so pleasing, love the sentiment too! Ros, there is just no limit to your imagination! Keep them coming. So sorry your feeling sore from your workout, I would be the same, but it's all good! Digital jigsaw you say, how interesting! Enjoy your weekend, hugs,

I adore this oriental look Ros with the pretty tree and lanterns, and the hills and birds and sweet hedgehog make a great scene, and the second with that lovely geometric lattice and also the leafy branch and more lanterns make a great topper, and the white on black sentiment strip is perfect. I love the embossed die technique on the first and the scalloped rounded edge too. Enjoy your jigsaws. x

Say what? You painted all this? You're too good, Ros! I didn't know hedgehogs hibernated. These cards are so pretty. I never ever get tired of seeing your beautiful painting, or stamps, or die cuts... whatever you choose to design with... because you do such a lovely job with all of it. I hope your sore muscles and/or joints feel better soon!

I absolutely love both cards, they are stunning. And what does it matter how the lanterns came into your head - it's just wonderful they did!

Well done you on going back to your exercises...I am still wary x. Enjoy your digital jigsaws x.

Both of these are just STUNNING my friend! Your little hedgehog on his way to hibernation is adorable, but the rest of the scene you put him in is FABULOUS! I'm loving all the detail and how you've made it look like the wind is blowing the tails of the lanterns and leaves! Your 2nd card is so simple but no less stunning...again, it's all the little details! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs! :0)

Beautiful scene with the pretty lanterns! Love the sweet hedgehog, too! Wonderful second card! More lovely lanterns and awesome die cut behind the images! A special touch with the lanterns moving in the wind! You are so creative, my friend! One is always in for a treat when visiting your blog, thank you!! Take care and have a great week, hugs!!

Beautiful drawings and paintings, Ros! I love the Asian feel, something we don't see often. Maybe you'll bring it back! I'm sorry I've been away. I see your beautiful cards come through and I oooh and aaah, in awe, but I never seem to have time to linger like I used to. Which makes no sense, unless I'm spending a lot of time just staring off into space. Ahem. Or, for me it's Free Cell or Mah Jong. I can just get lost in the games and not have to think about the havoc in our country. Sigh. Thank you for understanding. And five high fives to you to going back to exercise class!!! Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Darnell

Both cards are beautifully created, can't choose one over the other, but the little hedgie warms my heart. Exercise, what is that lol! Other then grocery I rarely go anywhere anymore and it certainly is cooling down fast here, love Fall but then I want Spring back! Have a great weekend my friend!

Both of your cards are beautiful, Ros! That little hedgie on the stone path, along with your bright lanterns, gives so much interest to an already interesting tree and background. Your circle with lanterns is equally wonderful with the geometric, and in this case, Japanese looking, die cut in the background!

Beautiful cards with Oriental look, Ros! Love the bright swinging lanterns. I could feel the wind.
Is there a place similar to this paining in your area or does the image come from your imagination? Either way, both drawings and paintings are fabulous!
