Just Two Cards

 Hello!

It's a wet and cold Sunday morning and the clocks have gone back an hour which means I should have had an extra hour in bed this morning but try telling the cats that... Feeding time does not alter as far as they are concerned.

I have made a few cards recently - Well the nights will be drawing in now so I have to make the most of the daylight. First another Christmas card

This was put together from bits I had

It's meant to resemble a bauble but somehow I keep seeing a Christmas pudding Lol!

My second card comes from my heart with the help of a Lavinia stairway stamp, distress oxides, watercolour paints and a little skteching

It's my (often) longing for that peaceful faraway place where I can just breathe

The well trodden steps can take me wherever my imagination wants to be. Sometimes a little escape is good for the soul especially with all the noise and madness around us during these times.

My brother Ron regularly takes me to places with his drone skills. A few times a month he sends me videos to brighten my days... Last week it was the Lake District - A beautiful part of my country. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, maybe you would like to watch

I hope this link works

Enjoy your day my friends

It's a cold a dreary day here in SW Ontario Ros, no rain, just damp and cold. This morning around 7ish it was 37F, that is cold. I went for a nice long walk with hubby, wore a tuque and winter coat! Our clocks go back on Nov 1. Not looking forward to the shorter daylight. Now onto your cards, my goodness, your Christmas bauble is like no other! Love the stenciling and your vellum for the holly, so elegant! Your second card - is magical. It just let's your imagination wander. Love the sentiment you used as well. I just recently found Lavinia stamps, I've been watching some of the 'you tube' videos, oh my I'm hooked! lol. I did order a few not sure how long it will take to get them though. Thank you for sharing Ron's video. It is wonderful - love the song he added to the video it just fits so perfectly. Beautiful country you have Ros! Sorry for the long post. Enjoy your day as well, keep safe!

Wow, I love that bauble Ros and so clever using a circle with the holly on the top, and also the way the pretty green stencilling fades out, and then your mix of stamping and your own added drawing which looks so effective with the soft background mountains and birds and the pretty stairway with the entwined leaves and added ferns to the left. x

The link worked very well and what a beautiful view from that drone! I enjoyed the visit! Love your worn stairway that looks like it leads to a wonderful place and has been well used! The mountains and birds are so pretty in the distance! Love your Christmas card too with the fold embossed vellum leaves and pretty ornament!

Your ornament is gorgeous and it looks exactly like an ornament to me. I never would think to use the stencil like that, but it is truly beautiful. I would love that ornament hanging on my tree! Your second card... oh, Ros, I feel exactly the same way. I need the quiet, and that seems odd to say, but right now in our political climate it's just crazy here. The huge Trump flags and signs are shouting to me from everywhere. Why do they have to be so obnoxious? Your hills on the card remind me of China and that could almost be the steps going up the wall. Now, as for your brother's drone footage... sigh... so beautiful, and from way up there it's certainly peaceful. What a beautiful country you live in!

Beautiful vellum holly decorated bauble card and stairs to a beautiful place, card, Ros. TFS your brothers link. I will look at it when I get caught up. We just got back from a beautiful place in the mts in Great Basin National Park in Nevada. It is a 3 day drive from home and we just returned yesterday after being gone for 19 days. Now catch up time. Will hopefully get to play in my craft room soon. I did take supplies with me so I could make some backgrounds for my stash, also got a Christmas Fairaisle knitted stocking 3/4 done for a friend's new grandson:-) Lots of hiking with Denny too:-) Always nice to get home, but was a much needed break from our normal routine and the news!
Thank you again for sharing your new beauties. Love and Hugs..Nancy

You are making the most of your daylight hours Ros. Two amazing cards that are so beautiful. I LOVE the vellum holly on top of your gorgeous ornament. Your second card is STUNNING with the soft gray tones, the steps to somewhere and a beautiful sentiment. The mountains in the background really make this a peaceful card. Thanks for the link to your brother's drone videos. Will definitely take a look! xx

Me again. Just watched the video. Gorgeous scenery. LOVE the multi coloured mountains (is that heather blooming??). And of course, the lake is gorgeous with the blue sparkling water. What a lovely trip I went on. Thanks Ros! And thank your brother! xx

Both of your cards are so beautiful and I love they have a relaxing feel to them. The second card is definitely peaceful, and your watercoloring & sketching created a serene background.
Thank you so much for sharing the wonderful video!! Staying inside on my days off a lot this year, I really enjoyed seeing this panoramic view of gorgeous nature! It was treat not only for the eyes, but for the soul! I felt like I was coasting in the sky. Your brother's drone skills are professional!

I saw the Christmas pudding, too! But the bauble makes perfect sense :-) That farway place... somehow I don't have a longing for that anymore. I think it's Larry more than Covid related, though. Either way, I hope it returns!
