And then came Monday

Hello lovely friends, you really are the best...

Sorry I've been away a little while I just needed a few days to recharge. Since my last post we suddenly and tragically lost another family member and it kind of knocked the wind out of my sails. It's been a dreadful year for so many people, all we can do is look forward. So like Bridget Jones I put on my big girl panties, sorted out the problem in my last posting, decorated my home for Christmas and along came Monday...

The card I'm sharing today is a sympathy card

A few of you thought that the mountains I do are stenciled but I just do them with torn paper, starting at the top blending lightly down and I increase the pressure the further down I go.

The flowers I added to this card were some I had painted freehand and fussy cut. I added gloss to them and adhered them with foam tape. I confess I didn't have a lot of inspiration when I was making this so just went with the same branch and bird I have used several times. I watercoloured the little birdie and added some sparkle to the branches with gold Stickles.

I'm hoping to catch up with you all today and see what I've been missing.
Thank you for stopping by and for all your support...
Have a wonderful day

~ Ros ~

So sorry you had another death in the family. I got bad news, too. A family member was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. I'm still in shock & so sad. Hoping for good results with therapy to give a few more years. Beautifully peaceful sympathy card--love your hand painted flowers, Ros. So glad you got things sorted out with your friend. Hugs, Greta

So sorry to hear that you have had a sudden family bereavement Ros and it does take the wind out of your sails, as I know as I lost a dear cousin just a few weeks ago, and that was quite unexpected too. This is a beautiful card and perfect with its pretty hills and sweet bird on a branch and also the added flying birds too, and the fussy cut flowers are great as a finishing touch. I love the shape of the hills and you have certainly got the knack of tearing paper for them..I have to admit I bought a hill stencil a few month's ago because mine were never very successful. x

Ros, I'm so sorry you've suffered another loss in your family. It has not been a good year for you. Your card makes me feel calm and peaceful and I know it will have that affect on the person you send it to, as well. You can use that little bird and branches as many times as you like and I'll always love them. Beautiful poppies for a splash of color. I did know that you make your own mountains with torn paper, but now that you mention it... that would be a fantastic stencil and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. However, I think I'll try your torn paper for now. Sending hugs.

Seems like forever that I came to your blog for a visit, not much time these days. Sorry about another loss. Ros, the dreadful year is almost over, but there are some bright times at least for me. Drop me a line when you can...I haven't posted on my blog since last year..just haven't had the time or energy.

Your cards are beautiful...won't get to comment on all of them. Will come back from time to time and check them out. It's just before 1am so I need to get to bed!

Happy Holidays!

So sorry to hear about your loss... there was certainly too much of that in 2020. Your card is so peaceful and no matter if you've done similar designs before, it's a beautiful sympathy card.
