Two Fat Robins and more...

Hello and Happy New Year!

Sorry I'm late in my wishes and that I haven't been visiting you. As I mentioned previously I had a fall and tore my hamstring. It could have been a whole lot worse, no bones are broken anyway, but the bruising is extensive and painful and sleeping and sitting is...Uncomfortable.

I've been itching to paint some of the sketches I'd done, plus our wedding anniversary was yesterday and I needed some sort of card to give hubby so I gave it a go.

Not your traditional anniversary card but you know me... Two fat robins will do. We're in lock down once again so no doubt that's how we'll look come Spring.
This time I added some hills behind my painting using distress inks and torn paper

Not my best painting but Hubby was thrilled anyway.
I also did another one with birds

I love these guys in their shiny boots - the only downside is that the white Gouache I used turned a yellowish colour on my cardstock.

Okay... I'm going to try and catch up with you all

Have a lovely day

~ Ros ~

Such beautiful and fun images and no wonder your hubby was delighted with your own painting with the two sweet robins, and also the cute birds on the second, and such pretty scenes around them, and your ideas are so fresh and your painting gets better and better Ros. Sorry you tore your hamstring and can understand that it must be very painful and just hope that it won't be too long before it improves. Happy Anniversary for yesterday too. x

More lush paintings Ros - and I laughed when I saw your comment on your two robins about come Spring.... whaddya mean come Spring??? After 10 months I'm like that now......
Loving the boots - little skinny legs too! (I am trying to resist any comments about not eating the yellow snow.....)
Hoping the leg isn't giving you too much gyp - but at least you ain't missing going anywhere!
xx

Torn hamstring is a bummer! Hubby did that years ago--not fun! Gotta say--your anniversary card is wonderful, Ros! I adore those sweet birdies & the mountains look fabulous! Fun second card, too!

So sorry to hear that you have fallen again. Ros, go slower, take your time.Whenever I am feeding the cats...trying to fill the plates from a walker is tricky...the cats underneath, so hungry, I tell myself, safe hands, safe feet in other words...go slow be sure your hands are secure and when you move your feet are ready. I have fallen three times previously when feeding and turning too fast.... nothing since.

Happy belated anniversary...love the Robins! Take care and stay safe!
Hugs,
Sylvia

I absolutely love your art work. Always so sweet and original.
So sorry to hear about your fall. It is good to know you did not break anything. I am well versed in falling - let's say I have had a lot of practice and even broke a leg once.
Happy Anniversary - you win the wife award of the year for making your husband a card!!
My best to you and here is to a fast healing.

Those chubby Robins are adorable, Ros! All your birds in both scenes are so cute in their winter attire. It sounds like you can paint your heart out for a while yet. Thank goodness you at least have that and are able to share it with those of us who love to see it. Odd about the Gouache turning yellow. I've never used it. I hope you will heal quickly and feel better.

Oh Ros this is so cute and you can bet your sweet pippy that hubby will love it. Those robins are so sweet and I love the matching hats! I really like the other birds too - you have a knack of making them humerous.
I'm pleased to hear you are on the mend but take it easy until you are fully recovered.
Happy New Year to you and I hope you had a good Christmas.
Stay safe,
Hugs

First off I am so sorry to hear about your fall...I hope you heal up quickly and am so grateful to hear that nothing was broke, although bruising can definitely be bad enough!! Both of your cards are FABULOUS as always my friend, but your anniversary card is my favorite with your two chubby little robins...they just couldn't be any cuter and how could your hubby not totally fall in love with it?!! Happy, happy anniversary a little bit late but heartfelt wishes definitely being sent your way!! Hugs my friend!! :0)

"Don't eat the yellow snow!"Actually the yellow guoche just looks like a shadow. These birds are very cute and beautifully drawn and these cards are lovely. Get well soon.

I absolutely love both cards but have to say that the two round robins are really, really high on the cuteness scale! I hope that, more than a month on, your leg is a whole lot better?
