Falling Leaves

Hello... How are you? Good I hope.

After my last post, my lovely brother came to the rescue and plumbed in a new tap so all is good there. As for my knee, lets just say I am getting nowhere... The system has completely broken down as far as GP's go. It's no wonder people are clogging the A&E and Walk In centres... I give up.

Other than that I have been trying to get to grips with a new computer. I had my iMac for over 12 years and it served me well but it was getting so slow so I decided to treat myself to a new one. Unfortunately the programs I was so familiar with have all gone along with normal size USB's so I am hoping that my card today looks okay. I had to buy a hub to plug my camera into so I could download and then fathom out where it went to etc...

So... A card for the challenge at the CAS Mix Up

I do love their challenges and this is another I hadn't tried. There are different techniques shared on the blog - I tried a few till I found one that suited me and finally a card

I used rose leaves, painted them with watercolours, lay them onto my card and smoothed them down with a piece of kitchen roll and waited a few seconds before peeling them off. I should point out that the stronger the value of the paint, the better the result and I think using plain smooth card was better than watercolour paper or card.

I die cut a stencil for the background,  painted in part of a tree and added some fallen berries

The sentiment from Uniko has been stamped and embossed.

I'm off to do some baking now... Well, I have done an exercise class and I've lost weight so I deserve a treat. Lemon meringue it is then...

Have a lovely day/evening

Till next time

Apologies for being AWOL again Ros and missing visiting.
Doing a little catch up whilst I sit here feeling miserable at how tthe house buying process is - anyway you have enough to think about with that poor knee without me adding to the woes!
A gorgeous card - the tree trunk and the stencil background is a fab idea, you are so clever!
Oh - and lemon meringue pie is sure to make you feel a little better - I am jealous!! xx

I think many of us can relate to painful joints. For me it is my toes. I am so glad you had a go at the botanical prints and what a cool result you achieved and your leaves are perfectly enhances by your wonderful painting and cityscape in the background. I love it xx

Oooh, I love how you have the city in the background and the leaves appear to be falling from the tree you've drawn. I found the various techniques for this challenge to be so much fun! Glad to hear you got your tap fixed. Maybe it's not as hard here to get in to see the GP, but last time I went he seemed so rushed we barely talked.

I love the way your rose leaves worked Ros, and you have managed to get lots of wonderful detail in them, and the background stencilled citiscape and also the added painted berries go really well. The sentiment is great too. x

Beautiful and creative as always, my friend. How sweet of your brother to fix your tap, now if only he could fix your knee...have you tried ice? What a fabulous technique Ros, and you have executed it perfectly. I love how even the tiny leaf veins show up so well. I hope your knee improves soon and that you enjoyed the sunny day today as a respite from all the rain.
Take care.

Wow--you really nailed that technique, my friend! So sorry you can't get the medical care you need--frustrating! We're lucky to be in an area where services seem pretty much like normal--just with masks on.

Your rose leaf prints are so beautiful, Ros! LOVE the partial tree with falling berries, and the sihouette town images in the background. So many wonderful elements! So happy that your tap is fixed, but sorry that your knee is hurting. I know what you mean about the medical system ... it can be frustrating. The Lemon Meringue sounds delish and a great pick me up for the day! Happy baking! xx

The leaf prints look awesome, as does the card. I have also treated my self to some homebaked apple-cinnamon-maple syrup rolls today but I was in no position to do so as I have gained way too much weight over the second half of 2021... new year's resolutions loom large...
