Here Comes Winter

Hello...I hope this finds you all well

Yep, the white stuff paid us a visit this weekend as did storm Arwen. Fortunately we are fine but there has been a lot damage around - This is the hall where I do my exercise...

...So no classes till next year now.

It's not all bad news though, eslewhere the penguin community are enjoying their pre Chritmas party celebrations

Having scanned my penguin sketch into the computer I can play around with it. Here I arrange 4 of the (same) image and flipped some horizontally. The weird thing is that each one looks different when they're painted. It's as though they all have a different look and personality. I don't plan it that way it just happens.

Here's another one...

See what I mean? At least the cold doesn't bother them.

I've done quite a few Christmas cards over the weekend as well as make mince pies and mini bakewells - I also made some trousers and whilst I am saving on NOT buying craft supplies, I'm spending a fortune on fabric Lol!

I'll leave you with one more of the scenic cards I did... All is Calm

Though you can't see it, the houses and trees are outlined with a sakura glitter pen so it looks very sparkly.

Thank you for your visit, stay safe, stay well and have a lovely week

Till soon

WOW what a shocking photo of the tree Ros and the hall where you do your exercise class x. The penguins sure do know how to celebrate and what a great idea to scan the penguin so you can then be even more creative x. Well done you with the baking and the trouser making x. Wonderful 'calm' last card Ros x.

I love the penguins Ros and what a great idea to scan the sketch so you can change things around, and the little houses and trees are so pretty too..love the added snow, makes me feel cold looking at it. How awful that your local hall got damaged and that was a big tree to come down like that. x

LOVE those adorable penguins, Ros. Both cards are adorable. The penguins do look as though they are having a great time visiting with each other. :) Your winter scene is so pretty, sparkly and very serene. Love it!! You have been very busy getting all the baking, cards, and sewing done. You are so multi-talented, my friend! xx

OH MY STARS! These little guys are ADORABLE and OMG yes, I would have NEVER guessed they were the same image ... I thought you drew each one individually! How strange is that ... but very cool too! LOVE them ... and the snow they are standing in looks awesome! Love the 'All is Calm' card too ... you are SO TALENTED!!!

I hope no one was hurt in that storm ... egads that was a huge tree that uprooted! Must have been quite the storm! Sad classes will be detained but the holidays will keep you busy I'm sure! Please stay safe & healthy! Can't wait to see the new garments you're working on! HUGS

Well, you have been busy. I do love your Penguins and of course they will all look different after they are painted. It is the painting that gives them their personality. So sorry to see all the destruction and I feel for those left with no electricity for days on end. Hope it gets sorted soon. I think we got off lightly as there was little damage round here, just the odd tree down xx

Glad you're safe Ros, the weather sure is playing havoc everywhere, we have floods. You're penguins they are too cute - love your cards, they're very unique. You are having a great time.. baking and sewing as well as your painting... hugs Robyn

Yes, it looks like good penguin weather, but very unfortunate for that large tree and what appears to be a block wall. I'm glad you're safe. Your darling penguins make me smile! The one in front reminds me of LuLu, how she'll follow with her eyes but not turn her head, as though she doesn't want you to know she's watching you. Your wonderful drawings give you all the new "stamps" you need and more fun creating them. It's good to have so many things to keep your mind and hands busy. BTW, Rich's scan is tomorrow, Dr appointment the next day, and we'll be getting our boosters probably next week. Hugs!

Wow, these little penguins are adorably cute cute cute! You are so talented!! All the snow we had is gone (and I hope it stays that way lol) I like it for Christmas then I don't care if I ever see snow again lol, though it does cover up the ugliness of winter that is cold and dreary here, guess I am never satisfied lol!!

Wow--that must have been quite a storm! Glad your place is OK, Ros! I do think winter can be beautiful & peaceful, but then, I'm a home body. Your paintings prove me right, I think! Could just sit & stare at these--love them, my super talented friend! Not to mention the sewing! Stay warm & hope your back is improving. Happy Holidays!

Oh my goodness Ros, so glad everyone is okay. I've heard about Arwen, so much damage. It's like here in Canada out in B.C. with all the flooding, so much devastation there. My heart goes out to all those affected around the world.

Now for your cards, Ros I would of never thought they were all the same penguin, just flipped. Geez, you are amazing. Love how you made the eyes, some looking at your some not so cute! Very festive, makes me feel cold, brrrrrr. lol! Your last card is so wonderful, love that little star hanging! Have a wonderful day Ros, hugs,

I feel I would have loved to join the penguin parties! Very lovely cards, also the "All is calm" one... which is sort of the opposite of what your post started out with. Was that the storm that left people stranded for days in some pub in Yorkshire?! Glad to know no trees keeled over in your garden...
