Hello...

 Hello friends...

What can I say ? It's been the longest time since I've been able to revisit my blog or any of yours and there has been no crafting at all up until the past weekend when I finally got to reacquaint myself with my watercolours and just forget everything else...

These colours calm me and with all that life has thrown my way lately, I need a little calm

Since my last posting my husband had a stent fitted to unblock the artery in his heart  - He was fine initially but then suffered a few angina attacks. Thankfully he is doing better now and is on a weekly rehab program which focuses on trying to instill a fitness routine for him but quite frankly he hates exercise and is counting the weeks till the course finishes. Unfortunately he is struggling more and more with day to day things now especially remembering and dealing with well, anything really, so everything has fallen on my shoulders.

There has been so much upheaval, the driveway being relaid, the kitchen being remodelled, leaving me physically and mentally exhausted and at times overwhelmed. The kitchen still isn't quite finished (I'll share photos when it is) but it is looking good.. The decorator let us down and now won't be here until the end of the month. I've organised all the wallcoverings, paints and flooring and dealt with all the problems along the way as well as explaining things over and over again to DH.

So hectic have things been that I confess I even had to visit the local card shop for birthday cards... I KNOW! How bad is that.. But I did get around to making a card this morning for my friend who celebtrates her birthday on Friday and I'm hoping that I'll be able to go visit her if only for an hour.

I'm sorry the photos aren't the best and I should explain that whilst the DP is really pretty, The branches and foliage were bare so I painted leaves, berries, tiny flowers and added another painted flower and leaf.

I've also started making a few simple Christmas cards. You know when you buy a pack of DP and there are always those odd sheets that you really don't care for? Well I am using the reverse (white) side to stamp and paint on. I hope my cards arrive this year, we've been plagued with strikes by Royal Mail for awhile now so who knows.

I wish you all a lovely day and even if I don't get around to visiting, know that I think of you all often, it's just that things change and some things are out of our control.

Till whenever

~ Ros ~

Hello Ros, how lovely to hear from you. I am so sorry to hear about all your traumas and your poor husbands condition. I really feel for you with all the work you are having done. That is traumatic at the best of times and clearly these aren't the best of times. All that decision making must be exhausting. I am sure your little break in your craft room will have done you the world of good and your resulting cards are fantastic. I have missed your lovely soft watercolouring. We all understand the issues with photos and at the moment the light is so bad that it becomes almost impossible, but it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. I have to tell myself that all the time when I am fretting over details! That's a brilliant idea with your left over PP. You take care of yourself and we will see you when we see you. Good luck with everything. I shall look forward to seeing your finished kitchen too. I think it is now 5 years since we had ours done and I still remember all the trauma very well. My husband had a broken wrist at the time too so most of the work fell to me. It will get sorted eventually and you will then get to enjoy it xx

I'm happy that you felt up to making a few cards, Ros. Painting is therapy --- it's a good thing! Your cards are lovely and so uplifting. I'm sorry to hear that your dear hubby is having problems with his stent. What a worry. I hope things improve for the both of you soon. Sending love and healing thoughts ~~~~ Love, Loll

Ros, so good to see you back and with such lovely creations at that! I'm sorry to hear about all the curveballs life is throwing at you these days and keep my fingers crossed for everything - obviously foremost for your and DH's health. Looking forward to seeing the finished kitchen once that's the case. Much love from Larry and myself!

So sorry that you and your DH have been having a difficult time, but hopefully he will gradually improve and things will settle down. I can imagine that these works you are having done including your kitchen will have taken it out of you and the kitchen is the worst area of the house to be done, but when you have this wonderful new kitchen you will look back on this as just a bit of a blip. Like others I will look forward to seeing some photos of it. Your watercoloured cards all look brilliant and you are so talented Ros..your friend will just adore the pretty card you made for her. Take care and let us know how you are doing when you can. x

Well hello stranger!! So nice to see you on here again!! Your cards are lovely and you certainly haven't lost your painting touch, I am glad it is therapy for you and for me as well to see such loveliness!! Sorry to hear about all your struggles with your hubby and you home, that must be quite difficult to have to deal with so much and your health as well!! Praying for better times for you both!! I celebrated my 70th birthday a few weeks ago, celebrated by us both having covid, luckily a mild case for both! We have had a lot going on here as well, so just take it a day by day attitude!! Take care my friend and glad to see your posting today!!

You may have been away for awhile, but it definitely hasn't affected your talent Ros...all of your cards are SO pretty! I'm sorry to hear about all the struggles hubby is having and hope things smooth out soon for both of you! And can't wait to see pictures of your new kitchen! Would love to redo ours but have to finish paying for our new tub to shower conversion first! It's always something, isn't it?! Hang in there and know I think of you often!! Hugs. :0)

I've been wondering how things were going, so am very happy to see this post, Ros! I can only imagine the stress you've been dealing with. Glad to hear your hubby is doing better & hope the rehab program will help inspite of his not liking it. They are hopefully giving him tips on how to manage his day so he can function better, even if he won't do exercises at home. My hubby has actually begun walking 20 minutes most days after hearing that a study showed that to be very helpful. He only goes as far as he feels comfortable in that time & surprised himself with it actually getting easier to do. And it's helped his mental attitude. Anyway, will be fun to have the "new" kitchen & hope all the other projects turn out just like you want. Your paintings are beautiful, as always! I really love how you added to the DP & know your friend will love her card! Hope you do get to spend some time with her--gotta take care of yourself! Sending much love, Greta

So nice to see you post again, my friend! I've missed your creativity and knowing how you are doing. I'm sorry your DH is having problems. Getting old isn't easy and life threatening events can surely throw us for a loop. Remember to take care of yourself too. Love all three of these cards! The soft blues and greens of the bouquet are very soothing and the Fall scene with the bright pumpkin is uplifting! I love how you've enhanced the decorative paper! Truly a one of a kind card! Take care. xoxo

Oh Ros - how I have missed seeing your beautiful creations.
Life is real crap sometimes my friend and you've had lots to cope with. I am real sad to hear about DH and his troubles (which also become your troubles too), it's so easy for me to say make sure you look after you but I hope that you can.
Sending you a big hug from Hesketh Bank. x

I told my friend the other day that it seems like the most prominent topic of conversation is medical. When did this happen? We're the same inside pretty much. The spirit is willing, but it has been taxed. I'm sorry you and your husband are having a hard time. I can feel some of it here, too. It's a lovely treat to see your paintings today, Ros, and I hope it was a rejuvenating interlude. It's hard to find the time with so much going on and all these things on your mind. You have a beautiful new kitchen to look forward to and I will hope that some things settle so you don't have to deal with everything at once. It was so good to hear from you today.

Oh Sweet Ros ... I'm so sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much! Will pray things get easier/better for you and hubby! Your cards are ALWAYS amazing to me ... you are so talented and I find soothing inspiration from your designs. So good to having you creating/sharing again but totally understand how quickly time gets away from us when you're having to deal with SO MUCH! Your friend is going to LOVE her card and a short visit from you will certainly be the icing on the cake so to speak lol.
Please take care of YOU and know that I'll be praying for better days ahead! My health is finally starting to come back to normal ... not 100% but certainly far better than it was 6 months ago.
Big Cyber Hugs & Well Wishes to you my friend!
