I love Autumn

The last few days we have had such lovely sunshine ... and the colours of the trees and the ever falling leaves are so beautiful .... I love to take the time to look and soak in the glorious abundance of colours ... to watch the squirrels as they dart from tree to tree and along the fence, harvesting the long awaited for fruit of the beech trees and oak trees. The ground around my garden is red from the berries that fall and the birds are enjoying a feast before the winter sets in .... I never tire of this season ... I think this ... and Spring when the fresh green buds appear have to be the most splendid seasons of all ...
I made a little card in honour of the season ....

I love the little stamp I used here ... got it for £1 ... sometimes the best things are those which don't cost much ... like taking time to stop ... step out of the daily hustle and bustle and really see the beauty we are so fortunate to be surrounded in ....

Till soon - keep safe

City Crafter Lace and Doily Swap ...

I started back at Practical Philosophy last night ... then woke up to a beautiful sunny morning ... but my day just got even better .. the Postman just brought me a package from my swap partner .. Chriss Blagrave ... all the way from Austin Texas ... heck the closest I'd ever got to Austin Texas was watching films and now here I am receiving beautiful gifts from someone who lives there!!
And my oh! my what beautiful things I got ... together with a gorgeous handmade card (sigh) ... have a peek ...

What a beautiful doily and cupcake

Fabulous hey?

Even little felt coasters

How fabulous is that vintage doily? just like my Swiss Nana used to make ...

And another oh so delicate vintage doily ... a doily stamp and paper doilies ...
Chriss I am so grateful for your kindness and generosity ... and a big thank you too - to Kirsty for organising this fun event.
Back soon

Hooray for the holidays!

That's the new challenge this week at City Crafter Challenge set by our very own Cheryl and just look at the pictures ...

These are purely for inspiration as the challenge is to make a card/project with a holiday theme ...
A great challenge Cheryl ...  And easy peasy don't you think? ... I went for Halloween of course ... well, I'm trying to put off Christmas for as long as possible ... even if the shops already have their Christmas goods on sale ... I am one of those "Keep Christmas for December" sort of girls ...
So here is my card ...

A cute image from a free vintage site Here ... and believe it or not my background  DP is Christmas paper from MME ... I know ... I know ...  some Basic Grey DP too, the rub-ons are a gift from Cheryl .. ribbon and lace, buttons and pearls all from my stash ... The frame I covered in 2 coats of black glitter ..

I don't think anyone send Halloween cards here in the UK .... But I do like to make them and see them ... purely for the fun of it all ....
Please take a minute to visit City Crafters and check out all the DT work plus our Guest Designer Arielle Gorden ...
So now it's up to you ... are you going to take on the challenge? I hope so ...

Seems my card also qualifies for the Shabby Tea Room challenge this week ... see .. Vintage Halloween

Have a great day!

WaltzingMouse Sketch 17

It been a glorious day here ... always the way ... people have the weekend off  work and it rains non stop and then Monday comes and hey ho the sun comes out ... I've been to my Pilates class and don't feel as rough as I did last week ... Thankfully! ... And I've had time to do a card for the latest challenge at WaltzingMouse ... This is the sketch ...

I am having a terrible time uploading lately ... since blogger change the format everything is taking forever! So here's my card (I hope) ...

I used 3 different stamps here 2 of which are butterflies ... I love white stamped on kraft CS and I also love pink with kraft so I used some pink glittery tulle to make a bow and glittered a flower ... the 'button' is actually a brad ... had to add some bling to my flowers too  ... just gives it a soft look don't you think?

Don't forget tomorrow marks the start of a brand new challenge over at City Crafter Challenge so you still have time to enter our current challenge ...
Thank you once again to all you lovely people who take the time to leave a comment ... I look forward to each day to hear from you ...
Enjoy the rest of your day ...

Little bookmark

Good morning everyone...
How was your weekend? Mine was good ... starting on Friday evening when I went to see Joe Longthorne   here in Liverpool ... It was a lovely evening in an intimate little place and the first time I had seen Joe in years ... he was obviously out of the circuit following his illness but having had a life saving bone marrow transplant he is making a come-back. In case you don't know who he is ... he is an impersonator of famous singers .. if you shut your eyes you are listening to Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond ... Tom Jones ... He looks more frail but his voice is as strong and powerful as ever ... Yep,it was a lovely evening.
Yesterday it was so dull and rainy here ...  I did the only thing a Brit would probably do ... I packed us a picnic and off we went .. into the countryside and ended up at a place called Lady Heyes ... A collection of antique and vintage stores ... with a sewing, craft, and cake store to boot ... The sun did eventually come out and it was a lovely day ....
I managed to find time to make a little bookmark which has all the colours of the Play Date Cafe colour challenge ...

Pretty tough challenge those colours ( for me anyway) ... so here's my book mark ...

This was tough to photograph as the shiny paper is actually sort of holographic ... you turn it one way and it is Turquoise ... turn it the other and it is neon pink  ... just right for the challenge ... so here's another picture that hopefully shows what I mean ...

Nothing really special but I wanted to take on the challenge ....
Hope to be back later .... enjoy your day

Till soon

WaltzingMouse World Card Day Challenge

Hello there ...
just popping in with a card for World Card Day and a challenge set by Clare at WaltzingMouse ... who has also given us a free digital stamp "Harriet" ... Unfortunately I do not have any copics or the like but I did want to play along ... so I coloured Harriet in Photoshop ... not by any means a masterpiece ... but hey, I tried .... Here's my card ...

I toyed with using different papers but decided just to use the one from MME Signature Christmas glitter paper ... I added a piece of lace to some pretty flocked ribbon and also used a Rubon ... I did glitter the fur on her coat too ....

I'm hoping to get a card done for this weeks' WM challenge too ... the light is fading here though and it's turning cold ... so whilst I may get to play and stay warm in my little craft room ... I can't photograph till tomorrow ...
Hope you've all enjoyed your Saturday ....
Till soon
