Pixie Dust .....

Hello ...
I hope you are having a good day ...
Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and your well wishes for my son ... our GP agrees with the hospital diagnosis ... a long word I cannot pronounce let alone spell ... but it means inflammation of the inner eyelids ... he still has to see an optician but he is a lot better thank God ...
A couple of days ago I received my Midsummer Nights Dream kit from Pixie Dust Paperie ... a beautiful kit full of gorgeous papers, embellishments and ribbons ... I couldn't wait to start creating with it ... there are a lot of photos here ... a journal / album ... I will be adding to this ... namely journalling ... notes and things ... but this is what I have done so far .... I added some bits from my scraps but nearly everything is from the kit ...

I just adore those beautiful charms ... they are quite heavy too and I've decided I am going to use one as a handbag charm ...

Now this was sheer fluke! I was using the reverse side of the paper and when I turned this piece over I couldn't believe that I had cut a piece that actually said "Journal Des Ros" ... on the paper it is Journal des Rose ... but I had unknowingly cut away the 'e' ... Perfect!!

I used some of my quotes ... from the little book of enlightenment
This beautiful lady and I have gone through a lot together ... she is my angel

My boy ... some days he has a moustache ... some days not  ... but he is and always will be my greatest joy ....

The purple dragonfly is from my stash as is the heart frame ... but how beautiful is that paper and lace ... even the words are in the kit

Lots of butterflies in this kit ... sweet Kirsty even put a little packet of real tiny ones in ... so this sure qualifies for the competition at Pixie Dust Paperie
(burlap and heart from my stash) ... those pretty resin flowers are also part of the kit ...

Beautiful ribbon to match the flowers ... 2 different shades in this kit ...

The clock face and the buttons are from my stash ... but I added one of those tiny butterflies to the clock face too ... and there are a whole lot of stickers to use

I fussy cut this butterfly boy ... and I love those big felt flowers ... tulle from my stash
... nearly done ...

Angels come in all forms ... and this beautiful shepherd really was an angel ... she came into my life at one of my lowest points ... I once told you that though I rescued her ... really, she rescued me

And this is it so far ... and I have tons of stuff left ... so I will have to make some more of these ...
I hope you have enjoyed seeing this ...
Have a wonderful weekend

Till soon

Paper houses

Hello ...
I hope you are enjoying your weekend ... we have had quite good weather which is nice and today my Brother and SIL came over to spend some time which was lovely ...
I have been busy catching up on laundry and the usual household chores and yesterday my son had to go to the hospital ... he has been experiencing pain in his eyes ... He went to the Walk In centre and when the usual blood test etc., showed nothing irregular - he was sent to the ER at the eye hospital where he had to wait for a few long hours to see a doctor ... Now when I am worried ... I always start to clean ... somehow it keeps me occupied ... so I sorted out a lot of things in my craft room ... Yes I did want to be with him but didn't push it ... him being 28 ... know what I mean? ... But thankfully he came home with a clean bill of health on his eyes ... now he has to see the GP this week ... so still a worrying time ... more cleaning to do me thinks ...
Aside from that I have a few photos of projects I have been fiddling with ... One things I love to do each week is visit Stef's blog to check out her Love Links ... a list she kindly compiles each week of the most amazing things ... I bookmark lots of them promising myself I WILL get around to doing them them ... but one I had to try straightaway was a birdhouse made from a book ... you can find the link HERE ... this is one talented lady I tell ya! ... so here are the first two I made ...

Well I couldn't stop at one ... and anyway ... they are so very therapeutic ... and I couldn't stop at two either ... the idea was to make three different sizes like Korrie did (though I wish I had a table like hers ... sigh )so I started another smaller one ... but me being me ... I went a little off kilter and came up with a wall hanging ...

I did a sort of 'half' house ... tore out the chunk of book I didn't use but left the cover on ... which I covered in papers and adhered to thick CS which I had also covered in paper ...

... those little pansies are real ... dried actually and oh so delicate ... I stuck the little lilac pearlie things in the centre ... they fell off from these ...

... pretty but again delicate ...

... and in case you're wondering ... the other half of the book I gave to my SIL ... who was merrily folding away as my Brother drove them home ...

You know what ... I'm still not sure about the door .... what do you think? ... maybe I should have gone with older books ... hmmm ... maybe next time ...

Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by

Jingle Belles ROCK!

Hi there!

Today I am Guesting over at Jingle Belles Rock with those two fabulous belles Lauren and Stef ... can you believe it?
It all started one sleepless night when my mind was churning with upcoming projects and ideas ... one of which was an aperture card ... As you know, if you follow my blog ... I have been with the Jingle Belles challenge from the beginning (only missed last week due to holidays) and here I was thinking .. "hey we haven't done an aperture card at Jingle Belles"  so from there
"oh HOLE-y night!" was born ...
Unfortunately when I chose my papers and colours for my card ... I didn't realise how difficult it would be to photograph ... but I hope you get the general idea

my aperture has some criss cross acetate in between the layers to make a window with a 3D bauble adhere to it ... all made using Spellbinders scalloped circle dies

For more info - please pop over to the Jingle Belles blog and also take a look at the fabulous creations from Lauren and Stef ... and remember it's never to late to join in the challenge and have a head start on your Christmas cards ... there is only 156 days to go!

Grateful Thanks to Lauren and Stef for inviting me to join them this week ...

Till soon

Thank You ... in English and in Portugese

Hello dear friends ...
We are back home safe and sound ... sun tanned and with batteries recharged ...
Thank you so much for your kind comments, your well wishes ...  and just for being there ... it means a lot
The day we left ... I received two packages from two lovely blog friends ...
My sweet friend Kirsty sent me this lovely card

Isn't it beautiful ... I adore it ...
but that was not all she sent ... take a look at this

... and this ...

Papers, flowers, embellishment, tags, ribbon, braid, stamps and so much more for my group and I to play with ... Thank You So Much Kirsty ... You have a heart of gold ... I am truly grateful.

I have been so fortunate to have met and made so many friends through the world of blogging ... in truth I was always rubbish at Geography ... probably because my Mum could never afford to take us on holiday except for staying in London with my Grandmother ... we never got to go on school trips to anywhere exotic ... so countries and places were just names to me ... I had family in the USA ... and that was prestige enough ... even though I didn't know one state from the other ... And now I have friends in places all over the world ... what a geography lesson! So much more interesting ... I get to see where you live through the words on your blogs and by your photographs ... When you travel I see more places through your eyes ... When disasters hit ... you show me and I can feel it with you ... I see the beauty and the barren ... all because of you ...
One of those places I never thought about was Brazil ... I knew they had a brilliant football team ... that they had carnivals ... and the magnificent Sugarloaf Mountain ... and now I have another sweet blog friend .. Jacira ... who actually lives in Brazil!
And Jacira sent this to me ...

One of her beautiful delicate cards ... together with these

.. and a beautiful handwritten note which she translated to English ...
Thank You Jacira ... they are lovely and you are so kind ...
