Calendar

Hello everyone

It's been a very busy week and I've had no time to spend in my creative space at all this week ...
Have you ever had one of those weeks when everyone needs a piece of you? I don't think my feet have touched the ground this week ... I am hoping to try and catch up on some things today

Last week I did manage to make a new calendar for this year ... I did all the pages in Print shop using digital files ... each one is slightly different

If I can figure how to add them to my free stuff you are most welcome to use them...

After printing all the pages I found an old photo frame which I distressed with some paint and attached the pages using a clip which was prettied up with both fabric and Washi tape

A few flowers and some braid and that's it ...

I hope you are all staying warm and safe ... In the news it says that we may get a chance to see the Northern lights here tonight ... All courtesy of the Polar Vortex that's affected the USA ... I would love to see those dancing lights so fingers crossed ... Then again I'll probably fall asleep!

Have a wonderful friday and a great weekend

Till soon

Snow bird

Hello there...

It the first challenge of 2014 with City Crafter this morning and I am hosting this week with this lovely photo

The theme is Snow Bird
Create a card or project that features snow and a bird or birds

I know many of you are experiencing snow right now so I hope you are keeping warm and safe

As it was my Wedding Anniversary last Saturday ... I made this card for my husband

I started with a piece of grey card stock and sprayed it with Mister Huey's Calico white then added dimensional 'snow' with Snow Writer ...

The bench and tree are dies by Memory Box and the birds are left overs that I cut on my Cameo
The sentiment and music notes were done on my computer

My DH loved his card and it looks much better IRL ... more dimensional

Our Guest Designer this week is Ana who won the challenge in week 187 with This gorgeous entry!
Please click the link and take a look ...She's a very talented lady

We will also be offering a GD spot to this weeks' winner so if you are snowed in or just itching to get creative ... please come and join us this week ... We love seeing your talent

Don't forget to visit the CCCB blog and check out the creations from the rest of the team

Thanks so much for your visit, stay warm and keep safe

January

Hello,

It's time for a new word prompt at

The word is

January

January can appear a bleak month ...
An anti climax to Christmas and the New Year celebrations...
In the UK it's still dark at 8am and the lights go back on at 4pm ...

But it's the first month of a whole new year ... The month I was born, the month I married ...
A month of new beginnings everywhere

The trees maybe bare and the ground wet and dull ... but taking a walk around my garden yesterday I noticed that there are some beautiful things if you look closely ...

The Viburnum brightens an otherwise dull corner with her tiny and oh so pretty clusters of pink

Even the remains of last years blooms have such a delicate beauty

With one or two flowers still clinging

and amongst them signs of new beginnings

Of course there are always some who get a little confused and flower at the wrong time

That just makes them all the more special ... And when it comes to safety in numbers ... well, huddling together has kept these going

January in my garden ...

Every month has a beauty of it's own ... it's just a matter of taking the time to notice

We'd love it if you shared your January photo with us this week at

Have a beautiful day

First Birthday of 2014

Hello!

How's your year going so far?
It's very wet and cold here in the UK ... lots of flooding and severe weather warnings have been issued in many areas ...

So today is the 4th January 2014 ... or written the American way 1/4/14
It happens to be my wedding anniversary ... 14 years today ... If you want to see the card I made my DH you'll have to wait till Tuesday as it's also my DT project for City Crafters ...

Today is also my blog friend Keren's birthday ...
Happy Birthday Keren!

If you visit Keren's blog you will know that she always comes up with the most unique of CAS cards so I admit that making one for her style was a bit of a challenge ...
I hope I managed it ...

At first glance it looks like a glassine bag covered in Liquid Pearls and filled with letters ...

...which it is ........ but pull the string attached to the star on the left and
Voila!

Out pops the word Birthday

... A bit difficult to photograph but I cut out the letters to read BIRTHDAY (twice) and glued silver thread between them - took me ages
A little bit quirky but hopefully she will like it
... And Keren ... if you're reading this and your card hasn't arrived, well, I just spoilt the surprise...Ooops!

Ok I have some of my GF's coming today ... DH is going to the match (say no more) and we are dining out this evening ... so I'll say goodbye for now

I'm back tomorrow with another photo post for Our Beautiful World

Till then
Have a lovely day and keep safe

Last Birthday of 2013

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all enjoyed your celebrations last night ... We went to a local Greek restaurant for a Greek Mezze which was delicious!

Yesterday my friend's daughter celebrated her 26th birthday so this is my last card of 2013 ... her Birthday card

I still remember the night she was born so clearly ... My friends had given up hope of having a child and after 16 years along came their beautiful daughter ...

I'm struggling to get into creating mode lately ... and have a lot more birthdays coming up

So I'd better find my mojo soon ...

Wishing you all a wonderful
2014

Till soon

City Crafter Fan Club

Hello ...

We're on the last day of  2013 ... Are you ready for celebrating tonight?
It's always bittersweet for me ... I lost my Mum on New Years Eve

Today of course is our last Challenge of 2013 at City Crafter and our hostess this week is our creator Kirsty

All year long Kirsty has worked hard to bring these challenges to you, co-ordinating all the Sponsors and Guest Designers ... leaving comments etc., She's an amazing hard working lady that I'm proud to call my friend ... and I love being on this team of lovely ladies

Kirsty's challenge to us this week is called Fan Club
Create a project that is related to a sport of any kind ... eg. football, golf, rugby, netball

My card was made weeks ago so it's a Christmas card ... but it does feature a sport ... Ice Skating is a sport right?

I loved going to the rink when I was young ... not that I was much good but I still loved it
I cut those sweet skates on my cameo and then just coloured them, silver embossed the blades and drew some eyelets and laces

In my house football reigns ... hence I spend a lot of my time in my craft room ... but if I watch a sport it has to be Ice dancing ...

We'd love to see your creations this week and we are offering a GD spot to the winner too ...

Can I just take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful 2014

Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet encouraging comments ... Every day I am inspired by your creative talent and blessed by your friendships ...

Enjoy your celebrations and keep safe

~ Ros ~
