Flap Opening Card

Hello ...

Today I'm sharing another card from the online class and this one I've taken from Carissa Wiley's example ... It's using your dies to create a flap opening

I sponged Avery Elle's Sea Glass ink through a Memory Box stencil for my BG and added a strip of paper from MME before partially cutting through using one of the Lil'inkers stitched rectangle dies to make a flap

I also added a few sponged circles to my base card and stamped under the flap ( stamps are from Clearly Besotted) and finally added a frame cut from 2 of the rectangle dies

I think this is really a fun way to use my dies and I'll be trying this again

Thanks for letting me share with you ...

Till soon

Shrinking Die Cuts

Hi there!

I mentioned that I was following an online class "Stretch Your Dies" and I make no excuses for this being a busy card ... I had no idea that you could shrink those big old die cuts using plain foam and couldn't wait to get right to it using the things on my desk

On a card this size (4x6) I would normally only be able to fit one of the larger die cuts but after seeing the tutorial by Jennifer McGuire I was enlightened and amazed ...

I coloured the white foam word "hello" using a Promarker and it looks just like suede!
I'm getting out all those old foam sheets I had pushed to the back of my supplies and I'll definitely be using this idea again...

Spring has paid us a visit today and it's wonderful! The sun is shining, birds are singing and Ginger cat is sun bathing in the garden ...
I hope it's a good day where you are

AAA cards Challenge

Hello...

I've enrolled in the online class Stretch your Dies and I'm really enjoying it ... I'll share some cards with you later in the week but today I have a card I made at the weekend with the
AAA Card Challenge in mind ... The theme is Bare Naked

It's about having a lot of white space on your card - I delved into my scraps and came up with this card

The butterfly was cut from a scrap of white card that I had previously sprayed with various inks and the splattered vellum was left over from an earlier card

The sentiment is by PTI and the sweet little resin rose was from a pack I received as part of a birthday gift from the lovely Wendy ...

I hope you are enjoying your week ...

Take care

City Crafter 253

Hi there!
Happy St Patricks Day to all of you who celebrate the occasion

It's Kirsty's turn to set the challenge over at City Crafter today and Kirsty has given us a
Photo Inspiration challenge

Don't you just love those colours!! I think this has to be one of my favourite combinations ever!
Here's my card

I used VersaMagic ink in Pink Grapefruit to sponge the bottom of my card ... It's such a pretty ink and especially when paired with the pale kraft colour in the paper leaves

That little piece of silver mesh was just waiting to be found in my scraps ... I noticed some mesh in one of the squares in the photo and thought this would be perfect... The 3D shell stamp is a sticker

This has to be my favourite make to date so "Thanks Kirsty!!"

Once again we have the lovely Darnell Guesting with us and I'm really looking forward to seeing what our team have come up with this week ...
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with too ... If you'd like the chance of a Guest Spot with us at CCCB just link up your creation based on the Inspiration Photo and the winner will be joining us on the team...

Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for your visit and your lovely comments

Till soon

Splatters and New Baby

Hello and Good morning!!

At 4:50am my husband became a Grandfather for the first time to a little boy called Luke Harrison...
He kinda missed Mother's Day here but he's good to go for St Patrick's Lol!

I have a little card that I made for the JUGS challenge ... How could I pass up this week's challenge when it's Splatters!!

I love splattering ... Heck I even added splatters to my newly painted mirror!
Here's my card

I splattered the vellum using TH Pewter Distress paint along with the butterfly
All these bits were in my scraps

I sealed some sequins behind the vellum just for a little more colour ....

I'm off to lunch with my GF's today, celebrating a 70th Birthday, so I wish you all a lovely day and I'll be back tomorrow

Till then - be safe

Go Ahead...Make My Day

Hello
It's Mothering Sunday here in the UK so Happy Mother's day to you all!

It's also time for a new prompt over at Our Beautiful World

Robyn has chosen this week's prompt
"Go Ahead... Make My Day"

Robyn is looking for photos of what make's your day ...

You may wonder about this photo ... Well that hat and fleece is a sign that my DH is off to play golf which means I get to play in peace Lol!
Friday is one of his golfing days and usually my friend Pat comes over for the afternoon to play in my craft room ... a great way to end the week

Other things that make my day.....
Summer days when I can relax in the garden ... They seem few and far between

The pitter patter of rain on fresh green leaves and the scent that lingers after a summer rainfall

Young birds who come to feed and occasionally stop to look in on me

Relaxing on a warm beach with the gentle sound of waves lapping and the glisten of the crystal water

What makes your day?
Care to share with us at Our Beautiful World?

Have a beautiful day my friends

Hugs
