Thursday Club Projects

Hello there ...

I've been busy preparing projects for my class tonight at Thursday Club... I'm always asked where I get my ideas from and the answer is often Pinterest! You guys are great for sharing... As you know the group are mentally and physically challenged so things have to be kept simple but they are adults, so I try to give them something not too childlike ...

When my lovely blog friend Stella came to visit last month she prepared projects for them and took the class ... It was such fun and they instantly fell in love with her! They were so excited that a visitor from Holland was coming and it was a fabulous evening ... Here she is with one of my favourite guys from the group - Peter

I know she won't mind me sharing
This week I found a card on Pinterest that I knew they would like so all credit to Nadine... I hope it's ok that I use her idea and I teamed the card with a trinket box

Here's my version of the card

I had to cut 60 pairs of flip flops and stick on all those white straps because my group wouldn't have been able to manage that... Phew! It took ages
The sentiment is done on my computer as is the card base and I tore up real sandpaper for the sand and aren't those tiny shells cute!

I printed and cut papers for them to cover their boxes

Cut some edging and made 20 net 'bows' and glued pearls in all the shells

I always give them lots of gems so that they can decorate them even more to their own design ...  One of the difficult things is making something that they can not only easily put together but adhere easily ... I can't give them a glue gun or liquid glue...Heck it would be everywhere! I remember many years ago giving them glitter ... NEVER again! One of our men went home covered from head to toe!

Right now I'm working on 'easy to assemble' hanging mobiles for them for another week...

I hope you have a fun day - Thanks so much for your visit

City Crafter 312

Good morning friends

It's my turn to host the challenge this week at

The challenge is Pretty Pink 'n ' Pastels

Create a project in Pastel Colours and include Pink somewhere

I often find it hard to set challenges and then when I do and come to make my project ... inspiration suddenly ups and leaves...
I finally managed to get my card done in the end

I had a Cameo cut out sitting on my desk and decided to use it as a stencil for some ink blending and as the little bird stamp set had just arrived, it went from there...

I used distress inks to paint the bird and added some glossy accents on his eyes - the leaves were die cut and I used a white gel pen to add a little interest both to the leaves and the bird

Our Guest Designer this week is the lovely Maria Patrick winner of week 305 ...
Please hop on over to the City Crafter blog to check out the creations from both Maria and the rest of our team ... We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us

Have a wonderful day!

By The Sea

Good morning!

The  prompt this week at

Is "By The Sea" picked for us by Kirsty

Well, some of you may know that I recently took a break in Majorca ... Hoping to catch some sun and dip my toes in the sea....It looked beautiful on the first day as the little boat arrived to take passengers out

Just look at that glorious sea...

We decided to book a trip on the boat a few days later but unfortunately that day the weather was not so kind

It was cold, windy and wet... The sea was rough, so we weren't even sure that the boat would come.
Look at that sky - the sea certainly didn't look so inviting

 Yachts weren't going anywhere either...

Even some of the ships wore waterproofs  Lol!

But we made the most of it and at the end of the day we were treated to a beautiful rainbow right over the sea

Head on over to the blog to see what my friend are sharing this week

Enjoy your day

So Tweet

Hello...

Have you seen the new So Tweet stamp set from Winnie & Walter? It's fabulous and you get so many stamps for your money ... Which is always a good thing!
Actually it was seeing my friend Keren's card Here that made me buy that set ...Keren is a brilliant designer and I have her to thank for spending my money Lol!

Anyway, my husband forgot his friend's birthday and as I didn't have a card on hand that was suitable for a guy... I was only too happy to make one using a bird from the W & W set...

His friend is struggling with some major health issues and never complains so I wanted to make something to make him smile... I think this will

My hubby wear spectacles and I thought it would be fun to put some on the birdie too... though this guy has a lot more coverage on the top of his head than my hubby Lol!

The branch is a die from Memory Box and like the bird it is coloured with Copics, the balloon (cut from vellum and coloured with a copic) and the sentiment are from the Wplus9 Unforgettable set and the BG was sponged and splattered.

Wishing you a lovely day

Blooming Marvellous

Hello!

Nothing crafty to share today but I have some photos to show what a difference a week can make in the garden
The UK has had some good weather with a few rainy days thrown in and when I came home from my holiday I was delighted to see how full the garden had become...

Tulips from Stella... they were just buds a week ago

Lilacs in abundance this year and I am so thrilled as we didn't have a single one last year

The winter pansies are still going...

We even have potatoes coming up

Forget me Nots....

I lost my lovely nephew 11 years ago and they always bloom on his anniversary

Yellow poppies are dotted around ... blooming where they choose

The shrubs are laden with buds and the blossom is out

This has to be my favourite time of year when everything is new and fresh... The trees are the most beautiful shade of green and long forgotten flowers are bursting into life again

Thank you for letting me share

City Crafter 311 and Blogger

Hello everyone
It's Kirsty's turn to host the challenge at City Crafter and this week she's given us the theme
Fairy Tale Land

Your project needs to include any element of  Fairy Tales e.g Princess, Pixie, Castle, Star etc.,

I went with a little fairy ... The kind you may find in your garden

I used a little cherub silhouette I had in my Cameo files and cut a butterfly for the wings
The paper is some I had been hoarding and I really need to get shot of that stack of papers!

I did a little stenciling and added glitter plus some sequins, the sentiment was part done on the computer and I cut out the word Wish and backed it in glitter CS

Our Guest Designer this week is Nela
Head on over to the blog to see what she has created for us and also what the rest of the team have come up with

Blogger.....

So did something happen whilst I've been away? I've been trying to catch up on comments and every time I am asked to prove I'm not a robot! I've no idea what some of them say as they are not in English so it's taken twice as long to translate them... Please let me know if you are all experiencing this...

Enjoy your day!
