Our Beautiful World and A Special Pet

Good morning...

I got to choose the prompt at Our Beautiful World this week and I chose

"Pets"

As well as some photos I have a little story to share

This is the latest addition to our home... Missy

You all know I come from a family of animal lovers and for most of my life we've had pets and cared for many sick and stray animals... None get turned away here
I've always had at least one cat and each one has a place in my heart but some pets when they die, leave a void in your heart that's hard to fill, like my dogs
Kelly

and Holly

Unless you've been fortunate to have that special relationship, it's hard to explain.

I have a special relationship with my beautiful Ginger boy

Ginger was a stray that visited us regularly for a few years until he turned up one day sick and injured so we were able to catch him, get him treated and neutered and from then on he's never left my side. We think he must be around 8 years old now.
Recently we acquired Missy ...

She'd either been abandoned or lost and despite months of trying to find her owner, no one came forward, so she is now with us.
Surprisingly, far from being annoyed that a new cat has come to live with us, Ginger boy has turned out to be the best 'babysitter' ever.  Missy is young and full of mischief and has no idea of the dangers around

and wherever she roams, Ginger boy is watching

She managed to escape the boundaries at the rear of our house close to where there is a main road and sadly where our other cat Gipsy was killed earlier this year... We were frantic, but we watched in amazement as Ginger squeezed himself through a tiny gap to reach her and whatever he said to her, I don't know, but her ears went back and she hung her head as if in shame and she slowly turned and skulked back to the safety of our garden... She's never gone there again but a week later she vaulted over the front fence and ran off into the neighbourhood... Once again Ginger appeared and followed her calling out as he went... Within half an hour she was back with Ginger strolling behind her.

He's one very special pet and I love him to bits

Enjoy your day

With love from Paris

Hello...
I'm recovering from a very busy and noisy evening at Thursday Club Lol!

I've made another card with some scraps... Some left over pieces from yesterday's card...

...The leaf and the heart

And some die cut squares in my box, one of which I stamped on in a very subtle and shiny platinum ink... That sweet Eiffel Tower is a brad from a pack sent to me by my lovely blog friend Barbara

I've struggled to photograph this today ... some colours just work better than others but here's a close up of the heart so you can see that lovely shiny gold ink

The sentiment stamp is an old one from a Waltzing Mouse set and embossed in Princess gold E/P

It's cooled down a lot today and I'm grateful for that ... I'm still sorely lacking in sleep.

By the way, before I go I wanted to share with you, especially my friends across the pond, that we here in Liverpool England remembered all those lost on 9/11... Here's a photo of our famous Liver Building taken last Sunday

Have a wonderful day

Mixed watercolour

Hello... How are you all?

It's been very hot here, not easy to sleep at night and lately I've been feeling very jittery inside - Do you know what I mean? It's like I'm on a fast train and I want to get off. Luckily we have a holiday booked in a few weeks time and I'm really looking forward to it... Being by the sea always gives me a sense of inner calm

I haven't done much in the way of card making - It seems there is always something else I have to do, but when I do have a moment I get out my paints and play with colours. Today I finally made a card with some of the painted pieces

The leaves and the heart were die cut from a separate piece and the word was inlaid in white card

There are some lovely shimmery golds in there but it's hard to capture

I hope you're enjoying your day

Till soon

City Crafter 329

Hello there...

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter and this week Stella is hosting for us
The theme is "Turning a new leaf"

This week we want to see leaves or a leaf on your project....

I do love this time of year and I could have gone with beautiful Autumn colours but when I made this card some weeks ago I was not quite ready to let go of Summer... So I created this

...Using spray inks

I used the leaves as a stencil too for the bottom part of my card and the embossed stamp was a gift from Stella

Our Guest designer this week is Agnes... She makes the most beautiful cards, do go visit her blog and take a look

As always the team have more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog ... We hope you'll stop by and join us this week

Have a wonderful week

Bloom

Hello there ...

The word this week at

is Bloom... picked by Kirsty

I photographed this yesterday in my garden, see little ladybird in there?

Here's a closer shot

Those petals look like wings don't they...

It's been a mild summer for us and many of the flowers are being fooled into thinking it's spring and blooming for a second time like this Fox and Cubs

...But some have just continued to bloom like these roses

and the hydrangea

More recently we've enjoyed the lovely scent of lavender as it came into bloom

And these foxgloves were blooming in the gardens of the hospice where I visited my dear friend
I will always think of her when I see them

Hop on over to Our Beautiful World Blog to see what my friends are sharing

Have a blooming marvellous day!

Thursday Club

Hi there...

The school term has started again here in the UK and that also means that the craft class I run at
Thursday Club (a club for mental and physically challenge adults) has started too.

Everyone is always excited to be back, seeing their friends and it means that I have craft projects to come up with and prepare....

Many of you have asked me to share what we make so here's what I came up with this week

A wall hanging, and given that we prepare at least 22 of them you can work out that 66 of those frames need to be cut... Not my favourite job so Pat kindly cut the frames and 22 cityscapes whilst I cut the cardstock, do the design, the graphics and the little things that I can cut on the Cameo

I coloured all the little boats and stamped and cut the sentiments too.

Together Pat and I put everything they need to complete the project into an envelope... 22 envelopes, You can guarantee that halfway through the class you'll hear cries of "I haven't got a plane... I haven't got stars...etc.."
They're either on the floor or stuck to something or someone else... Often the boat will be in the middle of the hills and the plane in the sea Lol!... It's hard work ... VERY hard work but such fun...

Ok so that's it for now ... I'll be back tomorrow with my photos for Our Beautiful World

Have a great weekend
