For a Super Woman

Good morning!

It's been a busy week and yesterday I mentioned that as well at it being my wedding anniversary,

it was my talented friend and fellow blogger, Keren's birthday...

I was pondering what card I should make for her.. I mean have you seen her cards? They are amazing!

As I was thinking I started to doodle and then realised I was doodling something that looked somewhat like a comic strip Keren... And I knew she would take this is good fun 'cos I'm not a brilliant artist

Here's the card, with added watercolour

See, I think of Keren as a super woman ... She creates for so many companies, is a brilliant mum to her 5 children as well as being such a lovely person inside and out

Here's to you Keren!

Double D Celebrations

Hello there!

Today team Diane are kicking off the first challenge of 2017 over at 

Double D Challenges

It's a very special challenge ... We are celebrating our 1st birthday!

The theme is "Anniversary" and here's the lovely tile board to inspire you 

 

Now before I go on to share my card ... A note about our celebrations

This challenge will run as usual for a fortnight and as well as the prizes given to our winners by the lovely Dar and Diane, there will be extra prizes up for grabs! But the celebrations don't end there... The following fortnight's challenge will also have extra prizes! AND many of the team members (both teams) are also offering a prize on their blogs. Now on to my card... 

It's actually my wedding anniversary today, honestly, so I had to make something that wasn't too girly that I could give to my husband, though seeing that lovely tile board I did wonder what I could come up with... But the greens, the silver and that wood framed chalkboard caught my eye and that's what led me to this card

As always our teams have created some wonderful projects to inspire you... You can go frilly and fancy or simple... It's up to you

I made this card for a friend who celebrated her birthday in December...  Due to the weather I had a real hard job photographing it 

A little ink blending using a die cut stencil for the BG, a stamped and embossed sentiment and a die cut branch and bird

Pen and Paint

Hi there...

I spent New Year's day playing with my paints... We'd been out celebrating on New Year's eve and we were both really tired so we had a lazy day

I thought I'd try something a little different for me ... Mixing some watercolours and then drawing over it... I had so much fun and I have one of my cards to share which I'm entering in 2 challenges

Well a butterfly is all about change

Can you believe last week there were butterflies in my garden? In december!

The only stamping on here is the word smile and the flowerhead

I drew the butterfly once the paint was dry and drew a stem for my flower

As always I just used plain cardstock and I'm still experimenting with how it handles... I found that once I dried this I could go back and add more paint...

My hubby has gone to the match today and it's given me time to do some de-cluttering on my computer.
