Galaxy Card

Hello...

We are coming to a close of another year... 2019 seemed to go so fast and yet for me personally it left a lot of heartache. Still, I hope to face the new year with optimism and see what the universe has in store.

It seems fitting that the card I have to share today is a galaxy card

I made this for my friends' daughter... I waited 7 years for my one and only child to come along but my friend had to wait 14 years before she gave birth to a beautiful daughter one New Years Eve 32 years ago... Some things stay as clear as day in your mind and yet remembering what I went into a room for 10 minutes ago is lost Lol!

I just used distress inks, stamped embossed images and a little sparkle ... I have a fascination for the universe and its mysteries. My best friend that I lost a few months ago was educated in the science of many things including quantum physics, not something I could ever wrap my head around, but it was always a joy when we sat and talked about the laws of the universe.... And life really.

I hope the universe will be kind to you in the upcoming year

Have a wonderful day

Birthday Boy

Hello there...
How are you, did you enjoy your Christmas?

We had a lovely Christmas day, having spent days visiting friends and family, dropping off gifts etc., It was lovely to just enjoy the peace and quiet of home with my husband, son and kitties.
Unfortunately Mikey was and still is suffering from a heavy cold but he managed to eat a little dinner and then went off to bed.
The cats have been enjoying the under rug heater I bought and have slept most of the time sprawled out on the rug... Peace is bliss!

DH went off to the match yesterday so I made a couple of birthday cards...Mikey celebrates his birthday on the 29th of this month and my friends' daughter on the 31st.
Today I'm sharing Mikey's card with you

When my friend Stella came over from the Netherlands this year, she brought me some Watercolour Confection paints and they are gorgeous! I used them for this card along with some Art Deco gold acrylic paint

The colours in the palette are so rich and this is painted on ordinary cardstock. I also did a little foiling for the letters and the stars - Just using double sided tape as I don't have a machine.

I can't believe where the years have gone and how quickly my little boy suddenly became a man. When he was little I would come home from work to letters he'd written me telling me how much he loved me and how thankful he was for all I did... Often they would be illustrated with "He Man" or one of the Ninja Turtles Lol! I still have everyone - I'm so blessed to have him.

Have a lovely day my friends

Been Awhile...

Hello there...

It's been awhile but I'm still here. Whilst I enjoy making cards, writing them and posting them takes forever. I've put up the decorations, treated myself to some new curtains and cushions, sorted most of the Christmas gifts and all the December birthdays.
It's kept me very busy but honestly? I'm missing my friend so much - Just spending a couple of hours  chatting and letting all the stress subside over a cup of tea and a hug.

Needless to say I forgot to photograph some of the cards I did recently so I can't share them but I do have a few more AI Christmas cards I didn't post

Thank you for your comments and kind messages on my last post... Our Cornish cousin in law passed away peacefully a few days ago.

I'm hoping that your weekend is a good one

Take care

Painted Cards

Hello there...
Welcome to December, it's really making itself known here, still, it maybe freezing but it's bright.

I'm giving you a break from my AI cards and instead I'm sharing some painted cards. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas unless I painted some wintery scenes and these are a mix of watercolour, acrylics, distress inks and some ink blending.

The trees are old stamps but it's the first time I've used the steps and stones stamp by Lavinia. The background was ink blended, trees stamped in Versafine and the steps and stones have been painted

Using the same stamp I also did this one

Everything has been painted and splattered with white acrylic paint

And my final one is just a wintery scene with some old tree stamps...

...Again all painted and there are also some gold splatters but it's hard to photograph

That's it for now

Have a lovely day
