More Cards...

Hello and good morning...

I don't know what I'll be up to this weekend.. I was expecting to go out today to do some shopping  and then tomorrow, off to visit a friend for her birthday...
But yesterday hubby came home from golf unable to walk more than a few steps... He put his back out. He was in a lot of pain and you all know there is nothing as bad a a man in pain...By the end of the day I was totally exhausted Lol!
He's much improved today, though I still had to put his socks on for him and all he can do is sit at the moment so we'll see.

I said I would share some more cards that I did this past week... Whilst I had the glitter and distress inks out, I did a card for my friend's birthday similar to the card in my previous post...

This time I used a leaf die to cut the space for my glitter

And then of course I had leaves to spare so here's one of the cards I made with the a spare leaf

I added touches of glitter to the spare leaf and I used 2 dies to get that mesh looking piece... I like to combine dies, cut bits of them and get something different...

The photos are not perfect though... It's so dull here and I've tried moving around to different rooms to get better pictures but you get the idea.

Tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday in the UK.. A day we think about all those who fought, gave their lives and endured the many conflicts around the world... It's also the first anniversary of my sweet Aunt's passing... She was evacuated to New York for most of WW2 and my Father (her brother) went to serve in the Royal Navy ... He was only 15. My beautiful mother on the other hand, was in London and survived the many bombings...Fortunately she was only hospitalized once having been cut by flying glass. I like to think they are altogether now happy and smiling.

Enjoy your weekend my friends

Gorgeous cards Ros and such a fabulous idea to use the cut out leaves after you cut the leaf spaces for your glitter, I need to think more like that!! Sorry to hear about your hubby, back pain (or any discomfort) is so difficult, especially when YOU are the caretaker lol...my hubby is out of town until Sunday so I have had a MUCH needed time alone...today is the first I have actually been on my computer and blog in weeks, as most of what has been on there has been pre-scheduled posts...it is very cold and very windy here and I am hoping the power stays on at least until he gets home tomorrow...our Veterans Day is the 11th also.

Pretty colours again on your cards Ros and good to do more than one card when the fun messy glitter is out. Love how you combined the dies on your second card to such great effect.
Sorry to hear about DH back and yes you must be exhausted....lol X
Thank you for the words and thoughts at the end of the post X

As far as your photos, Ros, if these cards looked any more beautiful I don't think I could stand it. Gorgeous! I love how you get down to business and create multiples when you're playing. Really love your card with the lattice, and very interesting how you created that piece. Remembrance Sunday is a bittersweet time. Like our Memorial Day here in May. Your country has really been through the ravages of war. I know how you must miss your aunt. Your mother's sister? It is nice to think of them together with all cares cast off.

Ros, what a beautiful selection of cards, I love the CAS look of all them and especially love the embossed die imprint :)

Ros, I forgot to ask who makes the mesh die cut?

So sorry to hear about your hubby, Ros. Hope he's much better by now. Thinking of you on this anniversary of loosing your dear Aunt. I can't believe it's been a year. Beautiful cards & so clever how you used the 2 dies for the unique background! Sending hugs, Greta

Your cards are gorgeous and such a unique combination of dies on your 2nd card. You are so creative, my friend.

It seems impossible that has been a year since your aunts passing. I know how much you miss her, but your memories of your aunt and all your family are to be treasured.

Sorry to hear about your DH's back going out. So painful as you well know. Did he use ice and then heat? Works best to do right away and probably now just the heat. Take care both of you. Hugs..Nancy

Sorry to hear about your husband’s back pain, Ros! I hope he feels better very soon! It’s hard to believe it has been a year since your dear Aunt’t passing, Ros! Thinking of you and sending you warm hugs! Your cards are very lovely with the leaf cut outs, glitter, and lattice die! Interesting about Remembrance Day, which is similar to our Memorial Day here in May. It’s amazing what our parents and relatives had to experience during the war. My father didn’t have to go overseas. Two of my uncles went to Germany. Today is Veteran’s Day here. My husband served in the army for three years. We are all grateful for all those who have served and are now serving. Anyways, you take good care and hope your husband improves very soon!! And, thank you so much regarding your sweet comments regarding our dog, Shadow! We miss him a lot!

How time flies, it has been a year since the passing of your Aunt, I bet she is on your mind every single day.
Big hug to you!

Both cards are so elegant, beautiful, and CAS, Ros! Love that you made two cards using the positive and the negative die-cuts. The lattice makes a fabulous backdrop for the stunning leaf. Adding touches of glitter adds so much interest and shine.
I hope your husband's back heals soon!

Oh Ros, sorry to hear about your hubby. Back pain is terrible, as I have pulled my back out as well. Hope he is feeling better soon! Your cards are very lovely and elegant. Love how you did the second card by using 2 dies, great outcome! Yes it was Remembrance Day here too on Sunday, Nov 11.

These are beautiful. The glitter in the inlay design really works well so I don't blame you for using it again. I love the "mesh" you created with the dies. It's an awesome backdrop. Lovely.

These cards are absolutely gorgeous... love these colors! As I'm again catching up quite a while after the fact, I now know already that your DH is doing better - I hope it's all over by now!

I was so sure I had commented on this post Ros, as I have just put a post up using your second card as a CASEd card, although it is nowhere near as beautiful as yours. I love both these cards for their pretty colours and elegant simplicity. I don't have any glitter so none on mine, but your pink with the purple and blue on the first and just the purple on the second is so bright and beautiful and really pops against the white. x
