Enjoy The Little Things

Hello, how are you?

It's been a warm and sunny week here with a little rain thrown in. I haven't made any cards this week but I have done some sewing (made a couple of tops) been for lunch with my GF's, and right now we are waiting to hear from hubby's son as his wife is having their second baby boy this morning.

I do have a card to share though, one I made a couple of weeks ago which will posted today with a few little gifts for a friend's birthday

I bought this shadow die from Aliexpress months ago and honestly thought it was going to be a bit bigger than it was. Unsure of what to do with it, I kind of just left it.
Anyway I came across it again and this time I had a spark of inspiration... Why not use the shadow die as a stencil? So that's what I did.

The colours happen to be not just my favourites (as you can tell by now) but also my friends, so after ink blending it was simple to just put the die cut on top.

A little stamping and embossing and that was it.

I'm still having treatment on my neck and shoulder and it seems to be helping... It's all part of the problem I had with my spine... Prior to the operation the right side of my body was supporting me so I have to re-align the left side and build up the strength again. It's all good and I'm be eternally grateful to have my life back.

Have yourselves a wonderful day... I'm off to visit your blogs now

Till soon

This is so pretty Ros and a brilliant idea to use the shadow die cut as a stencil behind the flowers in that all over look and I love the colours, and the two sentiments finish it perfectly. Glad the physio is helping your neck and shoulder problem too, and hope it continues to improve. x

I always new how creative you are, and this one shows it. A fabulous idea to use the shadow stamp the way you did. Lovely colours, it just makes your die cuts pop! Beautiful Ros! Well the next could of days are going to be the worst heat we have had in years. Reaching 47C (115F) gasp!!! I think I will be spending a lot of time indoors! We need rain badly, the grass is turning brown and there are huge cracks in the earth. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

This is so pretty, Ros! And how ingenious you are to make a stencil from the shadow die. The white rose die-cuts look so lovely against the "shadows".
I'm glad to hear the treatment seems to be helping ease the pain. Hoping to continuous improvement!

I don't think I know what a shadow die is...?? But I think this is a really unusual and lovely look and you've made a really pretty card.

Very creative and smart idea with the die and beautiful as well, yep love those colors too!! It has been HOT here so we headed to lake house with great grand-kids for 4 days and spent lots of time in the water (I have burnt knees to prove it lol) but now we are home for two weeks then back to lake with my daughter and her family, it's fun but a bit exhausting too! I hope you get all back in tiptop shape soon!!

Beautiful card, Ros! What a wonderful idea to use the layer as a stencil! Now I want to look through my sets to see if there's something I have that will work like that. I'm glad to hear that the treatments are helping. Congrats on the new member of the family!

Your favorite colors are getting to be mine as well - wonderful hues. So glad to hear your neck is getting better; maybe summer has its share in it, too!
