Watercolour Therapy

Hello...
I had one of those days this week, started off okay but gradually I could feel my stress levels rising...
So I pulled out my watercolours. Touching a colour loaded brush onto the wet paper is mesmerising and very therapeutic.
I'm no artist but a mish mash of colour always finds a home on my cards

I got 5 done including these 3

No sentiments but I'll probably send them as Christmas/Holiday cards

That's a new die and I really like how easy it is to make up a quick card...

...With your own artistic touch

Needless to say by the end of the day I was feeling much calmer

It's still raining here (heavily), the days are getting shorter but funnily enough the trees are still very green in my neck of the woods and flowers are still blooming...
I've a quiet afternoon planned whilst DH is off to enjoy the match. Whatever you have planned I hope you enjoy...

Till soon

One Man and His Dog...

Hello... Bet you thought I'd left the planet
Well, given the political situation here that might not have been a bad idea Lol!

Actually other than life getting in the way I needed to have my computer updated and it took a few days.. I hadn't noticed my back-up system no longer worked for the version I was running so nothing had been backed up since last October. Thankfully I have Mikey... who not only rescues mice, but can sort my computer problems too.

I've had a few new dies sitting on my desk for awhile and seeing as how the computer is now up and running and it's raining outside, my cats and I decided to make something. Turned out to be a pop-up card.

I thought it would be an ideal birthday card for my brother Rick  who has a beautiful Italian Spinone called Rollo...

The new die is the man and his dog which I got from AliExpress. It's one of those reflection dies so had a man and a dog below the top ones but I kinda liked it without. The reeds die (also from A/E) I already had and I've used many times.
I used distress inks for the background , some splashes of water and a little bit of glitter for stars.

I hope your week is going well... I'm off to see what I've missed on your blogs.
Thanks so much for stopping by

Till next time

Watercolour Challenge

Good morning all...
We have another lovely sunny day here -
I've been looking at some video clips from S.E Spain where friends of mine are visiting and the flooding is awful! My heart goes out to all the people affected.

Today I have a card for the CAS Watercolour Challenge

I was thrilled to get a top pick there last month, thank you ladies!
If you visit the blog there is a colour wheel to show you the opposites, my choice was red violet/ yellow green

I die cut the criss cross (AliExpress) and then cut out a centre from it to make a frame for the flowers (Clearly Besotted) which were painted using zigs.

The card is for a friend who has been going through a rough time... Just to let her know I'm thinking of her.

Did I tell you that my cat Missy brought me a teeny tiny mouse again the other day? Honestly it was only about an inch big. I thought it would probably die of shock but you know that boy of mine Mikey... He spent hours with it and the little guy was fine! He just did not want to go - every time he put it in the bushes it came right back to him. Eventually we managed to get it to safety.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for looking in on me

Been Awhile

Hello there...
It's been awhile since I posted and got to visit you all, I know.
Stella, her husband and youngest son came for a visit from The Netherlands and it was just so hectic but really lovely to catch up.
They visited lots of places in Liverpool and we took them to North Wales where they just loved the countryside with it's amazing views, tall mountains with  houses dotted here and there and sheep roaming free - Quite a contrast the their country.

We even paid a visit to Conwy Castle, one of the many castles in Wales

The days went by and all too quickly it was time for them to return to the Netherlands.

I'm now getting back to normal and today I have a quick card for the
Here's what I came up with

Bright and happy colours - I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer yet. Though the nights are cool, the days have still been warm and flowers are still blooming.

The baby wipe 'lift' is a little fuzzy, probably because I did this in a hurry and didn't allow time for the distress inks to dry before I grabbed my stencil

Have a wonderful weekend

CAS Mix Up

Hello ...Happy September!
It certainly feels like it here now.

I hadn't intended to make a card today... I was getting some craft things ready to play with Stella when she comes this week, then I saw the challenge at CAS Mix Up

A great way to use up your bits and pieces and you know I love nothing better, especially those teeny tiny bits I tend to keep...

Here's my card

...Which makes e think of me of Scotland. I've stayed there a few times- It's beautiful, especially when the heather covers the landscape and the leaves on my card reflect those colours.

First I die cut 2 inchies and from there I die cut a leaf shape into both inchies. Then I stamped and embossed three leaves on a small piece of AI done on photo paper, die cut one of them and the other two were adhered under the inchies.

Then there's the stag...
He too was hiding in my bits and pieces and believe me, you will see a lot of those magnificent animals in Scotland too. You know a stag is for life not just for Christmas right?
So there we go, it's my Scottish (inchies) card...

Have a beautiful week... Hopefully I will find time to catch up with you all soon

Take care
