Catching Up

 Hello!

It's been a while and suddenly it's June... I hope you are all doing okay, hopefully I will be catching up with you sometime today.
All is well here, the sun is shining and I finally got to see my older brother who I haven't seen since his accident and subsequent operation. He's doing fine, cycling 35 miles a day and then complaining his knee hurts! Well I'm not surprised given his operation was not that long ago. Still it was so good to see him.

I also went to lunch with my GF's who I haven't seen for around 18 months. Oh that was such a joy and I was smiling all day long. Suffice to say not much crafting has been done but I do have a couple of cards to share with you... I have 11 birthdays on my calendar for June and have been sorting out cards to send and doing online postage. This is one that you haven't seen

It's a digital image printed onto vellum and fussy cut. It came out quite pale so I used pencils to enhance the flowers and mounted it to a background of ink blending and stenciling

My second card today is another one made up from stuff in the bits box

I've left room for a sentiment for later

I certainly have enough cards for months to come I think so I've also been concentrating on some sewing. The warm weather means a change of wardrobe and I've been altering all those things I should have done ages ago, trousers I never wore because they needed shortening, and tops that needed a tuck here and there. Now I've a few new outfits...

Have a beautiful day

Till soon

Ros, so delighted to see your cards today! Both are beautiful, really love your first card printed on vellum. At first look I thought you have drawn & coloured. And then your card made of bits - always amazed at what you make of your scrap bits! How wonderful to see your brother and your friend. I know, I can't wait to see my family and a few good friends. Hopefully soon, things are still pretty low key here, the lock down has been lifted, but stage one won't happen for another 1.5 weeks, but that is very limited. Looking forward to stage 2 which won't be until July, when I can get my hair cut! lol. Take care Ros,
Hugs,

Hello my friend! I'm so happy you were able to get out and visit not only your brother but your girlfriends too after such a long time! I know that since our state has opened back up and I'm able to visit with my extended family once again and give everyone a hug, my health has actually improved!! I'm definitely a 'people person' and although I've never dealt with depression, I certainly was feeling the effects of not being around my family & friends for so long. Thank the Lord for the scientists who came up with the vaccines which is helping us all get back to some normalcy!
Now in regards to your cards LOL ... of course they are gorgeous and I LOVE that first card ... WOW! Your mason jar of flowers is GORGEOUS and you added touch of color is of course perfect! I know I've said it before but I will say it again ... you are SO TALENTED!! I love coming to visit you and hearing/seeing what's happening in your part of the world.
OMG and you sew too ... you are one talented lady! I'm lucky to sew on a button let alone take a tuck for a better fit of a garment lol. Have a WONDERFUL day and thanks for the visit ... made my day!

Gorgeous colorful digi floral bouquet printed on vellum, Ros. I thought it was one of your stunning free hand paintings:-) Loved how you added the soft hills in the background and stenciled rocks. Your 2nd card with scraps is simply beautiful too. How exciting to spend time with your girlfriend. Denny and I get our booster shots on Thursday...can't wait to be fully vaccinated:-) How wonderful to see your brother too...what a fun normal sounding week:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy P.S. and a new wardrobe with all your mending! You are so talented, my friend.

Happy to hear that you were able to visit with your brother and your friends! Freedom to get together with family and friends is so wonderful once again! Your cards are very lovely! Wonderful birthday card with the gorgeous flowers in the jar! And, your second card with the stenciling and leaves is beautiful! Such lovely color and design! Have fun with sewing! I haven't touched the sewing machine in quite awhile. I do need to make valances for a couple windows that I keep putting to the side, lol! Anyways, take good care and have a wonderful week, hugs!!

Oh, I absolutely love that first one - the jar looks like actual glass, it's amazing! Good to hear that you cut back on the crafting in favor of some more social life, I can relate to the feeling. I had three former colleagues from like 20 years ago over for a coffeeklatsch on Saturday and I was almost overwhelmed with the preparations. It felt like I was getting ready for a party with several dozens of guests! But hopefully there will be more of that in the coming weeks and months.

Such brilliant designs Ros and love the flowers you have printed on to the vellum and given some extra pretty colour to, and love the added stencilling, and then the leaves with the triangles inked in that array of wonderful colours as a backdrop to the super leaves and piece of foliage..great touches of pink glitter too. So pleased you have managed to catch up with your elder brother and also had lunch with some girl friends. We have just had dinner this evening with some friends who we haven't seen for a very long time and it was great!! x

Hold me back, your flower vase is so lovely printed onto vellum! Just the right amount of color enhancing by you. What a gorgeous card! And I love the second card with the leaves on the more graphic background. You have the coolest things in your bit box! It sounds wonderful to lunch with friends after 18 month apart! I had an engagement scheduled for today, but things changed here at home, as you know, and I had to cancel it. Your brother is doing fabulous and that's great news. My knee hurts when I step the wrong way, let alone cycling 35 miles a day, sheesh.
