Alcohol Inks on Vellum

 Hello again...

Have you tried alcohol inks on vellum? I hadn't until yesterday. I didn't even know you could use them on  vellum but I live and learn, courtesy of those clever ladies at The CAS Mix Up and all you talented people who share tips and tricks.

So whilst clearing my desk I found a small piece of vellum and thought I'd give it a go... I grabbed the first few AI's that would open (it's been awhile so some are stuck tight) and I was amazed. What to do next? Well, it's taking me a little time to get back into card making but I got there

So I have a card to for my friend's birthday and I one can enter at

And at The Flower Challenge

My splatters and liquid pearls are the spots...

I have no idea what vellum this is... I bought tons for wedding invitations I made a few years back but many of the packs I got were not white enough so I didn't use them. However, it worked well with AI's and the stamping / embossing of the flower, which I fussy cut and added white gel pen to.

I don't know what you call those teeny tiny beads or why I had 2 packs in my stash (now 1.5 packs as the floor got the rest) nor do I get how you are supposed use them... Heck they roll EVERYWHERE but somehow I got a bunch to stay. Maybe I should have used a dish? Splattering gold Poca paint is so much easier

Now you know what I'll be doing with all those pieces of vellum from now on

By the way the flower is an Hibiscus but I can't stop seeing a pansy now... Huh

Enjoy your day/evening

What beautiful results and love the frame, which you don't say but think is a die and not an EF, with the vellum flower using those wonderful AI colours, just so pretty Ros! I was sure it was a pansy, and the little gold beads do make a very interesting centre to the flower, and the added gold spattering and a bit of dimensional gold pearls, and the gold embossed sentiment all finish it brilliantly. A gorgeous card! x

Ros, this is beautiful! Love everything about your card, so elegant, love the splatters of gold, and your AI coloured vellum! Yes, I thought it was a Pansy too! regardless it is beautiful. I didn't know this either until I saw the post from those clever ladies! I must give this a try. So glad to see you are back into making cards. I've missed your posts. Have a wonderful day my friend.

Yes, I didn't know about using AI's on vellum either Ros and I couldn't agree more about the talent and inspiration over at The CAS Mix Up x. What a fabulous card with a great design and I love those 'pansies'....x.

Very pretty Ros and I agree it does look like a pansy but a gorgeous one at that! We have had very soggy weather here and more to come, not the best summer, ugh!

If this is your first foray into alcohol inked vellum, I do believe I'm in trouble. Don't care what kind of flower this is, just know it's beautiful. Those colors appeal to me greatly and the additions of the white gel pen and gold seed beads were such a nice touch. (You're right, handling those beads is like herding cats.) The diecut surrounding your bloom adds texture and interest. Gorgeous gold spatter. Thanks for adding it to CAS Mix Up's gallery.

Ros, I've heard that those teeny, tiny beads are truly a nightmare to use if you happen to spill them, they bounce like crazy but they look very pretty too.
Now, about your gorgeous card, I'm loving the HIBISCUS, I see a Hibiscus and it's gorgeous.
The die-cut wreath frames this amazing flower perfectly.
I love the golden dots you adorned this card with, beautifully done.
Thank you for playing with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE.
Stay healthy and safe.
XO

This is stunning, Ros! I love it! The colors of your vellum pansy/hibiscus are so beautiful! The wreath framing and the fine gold spatters add so much elegance to the card.
Imagining your tiny beads rolling all over the floor made me chuckle. Been there, done that. ;-)

It's a pansy to me, too! As far as that even matters; mostly, it's simply a beautiful card and the coloring is gorgeous!
