A Few More

 Hello friends...

Another busy week has flown by with birthdays, anniversaries and a lunch date with my two girlfriends included.

I want to thank you all for your kind comments on my sewing.. You blew me away! I am still having fun and enjoying it though it does tax my brain I can tell you. I was getting so fed up of clothes not fitting properly... Body shape changes as we age and everything seems to be made with the young people in mind, well, here in the UK anyway. I really still don't feel comfortable going into shops as virtually no one wears a mask and people don't bother keeping their distance either. So making myself something new or altering something I have is like having a new wardrobe.
Pinterest has given me so many ideas and information that I just want to explore. For the pinafore I took the shape from my apron and developed it from there though fitting something on yourself is not easy. I did a lot of sewing when I was a young girl but the patterns I kept no longer fit my shape so now I'm going to try and draft my own (she says)... I let you know if I'm successful.

So today I am sharing a few more of my house cards and one of the mushroom cards...

I've a few more mushroom ones to put together yet... It's just making time.

I'm off to visit your blogs now... Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.

Till next time

Wow Ros ! What can I say....all of these are so lovely and I like the way you have framed the images. You seem so very productive and I think in your 'spare time' maybe you should open a shop!!...lol I am with you on the clothes front and mask and distancing...I wonder if things will ever get any better now!

As always, I'm blown away by your creativity! Your cards are beautiful Ros, love them all! I hear you about how styles are now geared for the younger generation. I find that the same way over here in Canada too. Everyone is still mandated to wear masks in our stores at least in Ontario, not sure about the other provinces.
Well, I hope to make some Christmas cards this weekend, I haven't even started yet and have 3 orders plus my own! Yikes!! Enjoy your weekend Ros!

These Christmas cards are all beautiful Ros and love the different die cut aperture shapes and mats you use to put them together, and with the extra bits of stamping they look great! x

Your Christmas house cards are FABULOUS Ros...all the wonderful painting and framing with the white on white is just simply outstanding! You really should be selling these mini masterpieces!! And FYI...it's no different here in the states either...hardly anyone wears a mask or keeps their distance, and the numbers just keep climbing and climbing! The hospitals here in Michigan are at capacity and largely with the unvaccinated...go figure! I never thought of myself as one of the brightest bulbs in the pack, but I guess I'm smarter than I thought considering I'm healthy (well other than my arthritis!) and not in the hospital! OK, done ranting! Lovely, lovely cards and glad you are enjoying sewing again too!! Hugs. :0)

WOW these are AWESOME and how clever to use the 'postal' stamp ... I never thought to do that but it certainly works here!!! (I'll remember that now lol).
As far as clothing that fits our 'more mature' figures, it's the same here in the states ... if you're young you can find anything but to find age appropriate clothes that don't look like it came from my deceased mother's closet can be difficult. And the cost ... egads! I commend you for sewing your own. I've never been good at sewing so I'll just have to 'pay the price'.
Like you, I don't like going into the stores right now ... even though I'm fully vaccinated I just don't want to run the risk so I'll just keep wearing the clothes I've been wearing for the past couple of years lol.
Thanks for sharing such wonderfully inspiring cards my friend! HUGS

I do love how you combine your fabulous paintings with a little bit of stamping and die cuts. Your little houses are so dang cute! Same here with the clothes. Shopping is so hard. Still wearing a mask in public here, but plenty of people defy the shop requirements. There I was in the pharmacy line where masks are required and my next door neighbor was standing there big as you please with no mask. He's a young guy and other patrons are sick and/or old, but what does he care? No thought of what he might easily resist, yet spread to others who are more susceptible. My Golden Retriever bubble is not so much a physical place as it is a mental/emotional retreat from people like that.

I LOVE that house so much and happy to see it on some more cards Ros. Your scenes are so fun and happy. Power to you for making your own patterns. I bet this is another thing you'll be great at! xx

Oh Ros, you seems like you're having so much fun, with your wonderful hand painted cards and adaptive creativeness with your sewing... have to agree - there seems to be a lack of thought here too in Australia regarding older women's clothing - colours, styles and sizing, maybe except for specialist shops catering and charging for mature women...I've found more fabric and yarn in my decluttering and I've promised 8 yo Sophie I'll show her how to use the sewing machine over the school holidays, so that might get me inspired. Enjoy your weekend, hugs Robyn

Beautifully painted & designed, Ros! I really love putting images in die cut window--need to remember that! You're like my sister with making your own patterns or adapting them for sewing & yarn projects! I'm lucky to be able to follow a simple pattern--haha! Glad you got to see your girlfriends. I'm mostly staying out of businesses & just use curbside pick-up. Last time I had to go inside to do an exchange, a woman walked by refusing to put on a mask. So disgusting!
