Winter Nights

Hello and Happy Thankgiving to my friends across the pond.

I'm feeling much better now though the weather has turned very cold and it makes me just wnant to hibernate until Spring. I'm so glad I have so many hobbies to keep me busy or I think I would just vegetate.

I don't always have inspiration when making cards but one of my favourite things to do, which really relaxes me, is to paint with water over randomly painted watercolour. I've shared some before where I just take a wet paintbrush and paint shapes. Today I have 4 I did to share

They are all very glittery and in the same theme

I just love doing the trees and of course there just has to be a house...

Of course I should point out that you only get one go with water... Once the paint is marked it's marked

Today is a sad day for my city, our Christmas lights were turned on last evening and it should have been a happy event. Sadly a 12 year old girl lost her life after being stabbed by a group of young boys. I know every city in the world has it's problems and we have our fair share but this event has touched the community and even our local radio presenter broke down in tears this morning. I don't know if things will ever get better, after all we have enough to concern ourselves with, but I pray that one day the streets will be safe for our children, our grandchildren and ourselves.

Till soon my friends

Hello sweet friend! These creations are simply gorgeous and each tells a story! I'm sure they are AMAZING in real life with the sparkle you've added! Nicely done ... again ... so much talent & inspiration with each visit!
I'm so saddened to hear about that young girl ... SO WRONG!! What is happening in the world today ... so much hate!! Ugh! Yes we here in the states have way too much of this sort of thing happening also and I (like you) just keep praying things turn around and people find a way to love one another more and stop this senseless killing! I too fear for my grandkids and great grandkids ... but all I can do for now is PRAY!! Like the song said ... ALL WE NEED IS LOVE!!! WARM HUGS to you on this cold day (snowing here lol)!

Your cards are gorgeous, Ros! Yesterday, my MIL and I had a conversation about how much we dread snow, but love the moonlight shining through the trees and lighting up the snow... you've just captured that in your beautiful cards.
I'm so sorry to read about that tragic loss of life in your community. I cannot imagine how anyone could do such a thing - but you're right, my friend - sadly, it is the world we live in. Let's all share your prayer... one day...

Dreadful news for our City Ros, so sad for the family - and you wonder what on earth is wrong when other children are responsible for such violence.
These are beautiful cards, serene and peaceful. x

Four beautiful cards and I love the effects you have got using the trees and a house on each and with some pretty glittery looks and on the die cut branches too..so atmospheric, and a great embossed sentiment used on each too. x

So very sorry to hear about the tragic loss of that young life in your community...how have we come to this point that killing is the answer?! So so sad, and unfortunately it's everywhere! Sending many warm hugs and prayers your way as your community deals with this senseless loss!

Oh, such beautiful peaceful cards, Ros! Love the blue backgrounds with the houses and trees! We got snow here today. It won’t be much at all and it is lovely seeing it fall softly to the ground. So sorry to hear about the loss of the young girl. How devastating for the family. The evil is this world is unbearable at times. All we can do is pray for things to improve and to look for miracles and blessings along the way.

I do love these cards, you are so creative with your watercolours. It is so sad to hear about a 12yr old losing their life, you do wonder what an earth is going on xx

I see beautiful winter scenes, either twilight or moonlight, or a mid-day sky darkened by snow clouds. The blue is very calming, as I imagine was the process of painting these. Outside my window I see gray and green with mist hanging in the trees, and that's beautiful, too. That's a horrific thing that happened in your city. I don't know if our world is fixable anymore and I say all the time that I'm glad I don't have grandkids growing up in this. Still living in our bubble and trying to stay safe.

LOVE your four cards Ros. The subtle watercolouring over top of the background is soft, beautiful, and peaceful. Lovely group of cards, my friend. So sorry to hear about the tragedy. It's so very sad, especially this time of year. xx

Wonderful watery scenes, Ros! I've been watercoloring on regular cardstock and it makes me appreciate what you do all the more. The violence around the world is so sad, especially when the innocent children are the ones that get hurt.

It is so awful to see evil winning over & over. Kids & adults were killed in the US recently during a Christmas parade when a driver purposely hit them. Less & less I want to go anywhere. But, on a happy note--these beautiful, peaceful paintings make me smile! I'd like to be in one of those scenes!

More stunningly beautiful wintery cards, each one peacefully beautiful. Yes it seems our world has become a violent place lately, we just had a school shooting in Michigan this week, breaks my heart, I just don't get the violence!!

What a sad piece of news about that girl - with some of these people I really am at a loss. Where does this hate come from? And how could a 12-year old girl be a relevant target - if there is such a thing as a relevant target?! I think it's tough times for everybody, though admittedly tougher for some than for others, but in the end you never know what people you encounter randomly are dealing with. I wish I could come up with a way to make people see more of the good things in life than focusing on the bad or be afraid of changes.
Oh, what a rant, I'm sorry. I do love your cards - that blue makes me think the scenes are somwhere in Scandinavia in winter, when the sun's not really coming up but it's not really dark either!
